If I am going to be away from home for a few hours and the indoor temperature is roughly 90 F, should I leave the air conditioning on for my yorkie?

I leave my air on for the dogs set at 78 degrees. My big dogs feel the heat more than the MinPins who live under blankets and would prob not mind 85 degrees. If your air is not on when you are home than the dog should be used to the heat but if the air is on usually then leave it on. you can set it higher if you want. But I would not be comfy over 85 degrees so my dogs prob wouldn't be either. When my air went out the house was 95 and we were all too hot even with fans so 90 sounds too hot unless you are used to it.

Just for the sake of it. Believe it or not it would be cheaper for you to leave the ac on at a set temp. If you cut the ac off everything heats up during the heat of the day.(walls furniture floors) So when you turn the ac back on it has to cool off not just the air but all furishings, which makes the ac work twise as hard. as far as the pup, as long as he or she has water everything is ok. After all what did we do back in the fiftys.

Actually, you should leave the AC on anyways, because shutting it off and letting it heat up and then turning the AC back on and making it work so hard to cool the house off again will not really save you any money in the long run. So, if it's just for a few hours, you might as well leave it on and let the dog be comfortable.

I would definetly leave it on, but you could probably turn it up to like 78 or so. Imagine having on a fur coat and having to stay in a room that is 90 degrees. Yuck!

yes most definitely the little Honey is a house dog right there for it is used to the air being on.
If you turn it off the dog may become sick or if not that very uncomfortable and be very grumpy when you return home

It would be nice, probably. She'd appreciate it. Set it at 78 so it doesn't get too cold and it doesn't run your bill up.

Be sure to leave her plenty of water.
