(-: Well, I have a new volunteer assignment to translate a script set in a prison. I may need some help this week, but to start with I have two terms I'd like to define.

1. 刑務官 Is this one of many "corrections officers" or is this the big boss (the warden) at the top? Is there a good word in English to use for "corrections officer"? This seems a little too stiff. I read in wiki that they are sometimes called "yard dogs" but I think this slang is too obscure.

2. あんらー別嬪さんやないの～。This is said by a male prisoner who is in jail for being a fake psychic con artist. What's up with this "anra"? Is it a variation of "ara"? Maybe Hoo-boy? Or Christ Almighty? I don't have a good sense about how strong this "anra" is. I also need to check with my translation co-ordinator about how strong the English can be.

I'm thinking of translating the rest as "Ain't you a cutie!"

I'd appreciate any thoughts on the matter. Or links to prison terminology in English. Thanks!

I'm planning to take my wife on a cruise next December 2008 for our 10yr anniversary. The rules on airlines require that liquids such as shampoo must be in a 3oz size bottle & that they must be in a clear 1qt size container. I'd like to know if those same security measures that are in place on airlines also apply for a cruise ship too?

What color tank top should I wear under a short sleeve hollister shirt. The type that has th butttons in the front top part. I have like every color tank top but I'm wearing jeans with it. The green is kinda dark but it isn't dark green. Its just like normal solid green. But it has the buttons in the front and I have 2 wear a tank under it because of my clevage lol.So what color? Is white ok with it? Or should I just wear a sports bra over my regular one? Im wearing jeans so I don't really have another color to match it with

Have You Noticed that in Hip Hop Videos, the Light Skinned Girls are the ones who are the pretty, attractive girls who the rapper or singer is trying to get, but the dark skinned girls are the ones who are always doing the hoochie dances like booty bounces and things like that? I was born in the UK over forty years ago. My mother was American but my dad was still a UK citizen at the time of my birth. I came to America with my mother when I was six weeks old, and my father soon joined us. My parents had to file for something to give me US citizenship and I needed to show this paper work when I joined the US Air Force in 1980. (My recruiter said if I didn't provide the paper work, they would have to deport me!)
Since then I've lost it along with my UK birth certificate, and my parents have both passed away. I don't even know what the paper work I had was called, much less where I could go to get it replaced. Can someone tell me what's the best way for me to prove I'm American?

My 19yr old son lives w/ my ex, but has been staying w/ me because of escalated arguments w/ his dad. He's getting his own apt on Monday & his dad will not let him come get anything from his room!! Including his own clothes!! My son said he would bring a police escort or go when the dad is not home. His dad has taken his key & said he will not be able to get in the house when he is gone & the police can't do anything because they are not his things. We have called the police & they didn't really give a straight answer! Just like "surely he'll let you take your clothes?" is all they really said? His dad has threatened if he comes there will be a "fight!!!" So wondering, wouldn't the clothes & everything else be considered my sons, since they were "given" to him? Just trying to help my son get his stuff & get the heck outta there the calmest, best way possible!!?
