The NFL has a pension problem. Many veterans cannot get or pay for health insurance, and many injuries they recieved while playing have left them with outstanding medical bills and worsened medical conditions. Could it benefit players, past and present, to impose a 2% tax on their salaries (like social security, before President Carter screwed it up) in order to give them a respectable pension? As we all know, past players did not recieve the salaries today's players are receiving.
