I am in good physical condition right now playing football. but thats nothing compared to what i will even endure in my first day of boot camp. well my question to you is what kind of physical training i should start implicating in my lifestyle to begin to train, and or point me in the right direction to start. books or things i should read that may help me further my knowledge of what i need to know to reach my goals

You need to understand that Basic Induction or Boot in all services is a physical challenge. But the biggest challenge is going to be mental. "Welcome to Ft. Leonard Wood. I am your Drill SGT. Now you have exaclty 2 minutes to move your fat butts of my bus, that started 10 seconds ago. MOVE!!" The best thing you can due is run, push-ups, and even lift weights. But make sure that you understand that your life for a long while will no longer be YOUR LIFE and you will have to be ready to take BS, being told that nothing is right, that all you do is wrong and be ready for change. GOOD LUCK and thanks for serving.

Shame on you! You have a great goal of becoming a Navy SEAL and you think it's outlandish!!! If that is your goal...go for it! You are what? 17? You are going to be amazed at the changes the military will do to your mind and body. First of all, change your attitude. Love life, love serving your country! Then, the best thing you can do for your body is work on your cardio. The military will run your butt everyday you are enlisted. Stop smoking, chewing or drinking. Find a great vitamin and take it everyday. Boot camp is going to be tough, but you are going to do just fine!

RUN a mile or two a day without stopping... I mean don't kill yourself ;) , but be able to do at least a mile before you ship.

Be able to do at least 35 PUSH UPS (all the way down and up) and 60 SIT UPS (not crunches all the way up) in 2 minutes. (two minutes for push ups 2 minutes for sit ups)
I could tell you more about Seal training, but that is classified. You will find that out if you opt to begin seal training in boot camp.

And be preparded to be torn apart mentally. The mental is worse than the physical TRUST ME.
Good Luck Sailor.

Its more along the lines of mental training, because if you make it that far, you will never in your life experience a more mentally challengeing goal. If you can stand the verbal abuse that you will get, then by all means go for it. Because noone can ever take away from you the experience's of having been in the military. If you free your mind your as# will follow. Good luck.

I'd suggest a good program of running. In the book "Rogue Warrior" the writer who is a Navy Seal (former) was stationed in Italy, and did a lot of running to keep in shape. It's a good goal, and I hope that one day you may make it.

Run everyday, lift weights three times a week. Do lots of pushups. Then, when you go in, you won't have as much of a problem with the physical aspect. The mental aspect, however, which most people have the hardest time with, is another story.

Research the PRT (Physical Readiness Test) for the Navy at http://www.navy-prt.com/

It's important to practice the events that you will be tested on...running, pushups, situps. Practice good form on the pushups and situps!

Have you considered attending an academy or a senior military college? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senior_Military_College)

An education isn't something you should look over lightly.

Whatever you choose, good luck.

Army has opening for almost every trade that is in civil. the army consists of not only fighting forces but also engineers, doctors, managers, craftsmen. You may join army and opt for trade of your choice. Infantry is the fighting force. It will be better to join National Cadet corps during your schooling and college education. If you are physically fit, interested in sports and like disciplined life, you are likely to be a good soldier.
