Marriage is, and has been for millennia, the institution that forms and upholds for society, the cultural and social values and symbols related to procreation. That is, it establishes the values that govern the transmission of human life to the next generation and the nurturing of that life in the basic societal unit, the family.

Advocates of same-sex marriage try to make it sound as bourgeois as possible, but gay marriage is really the triumph of the most radical ideas of the sexual revolution: that gender doesn't matter, children are secondary, expressing your authentic sexual self is more important than, well, practically anything else.

It is a harbinger of things to come. All of the time-honored assumptions of marriage -- bride and groom, husband and wife, mother and father -- must be rewritten to accommodate a tiny fraction of the population who choose to be gay and want to form alternative families.

That would logically be the next move. The "unfairness" of the marketplace has put poor MSNBC at a competitive disadvantage, so government must provide subsidies to make it all "fair".

We been friends for more than 14 yrs until we started this misunderstanding that separated and broke our friendship. I'd been so open to her about my personal life. I even considered her as my sister. I told her everytime i found something wrong or not ok with her which in return she viewed it as "manipulative and harsh remarks " but thats not my intention, for me thats because I care for her and I want to correct her. She doesnt told me it hurts her but rather turn to our other friends and backbite me telling them of my past personal life which I only trusted to her. Thats her way of revenge to me which is unfair. She should have talked to me and not to anybody else.

While watching the city's big fireworks display last night I saw that they had some that exploded into heart & star shapes as well as a ring of one color with a burst of another color in the middle. How exactly does a firework maker actually go about doing that?? I'm extremely curious cause I'm completely baffled at this point!!

They have been together for 10 years and still are together, he is scared to leave her if he can not have custody of the child. They have 2 daughters together 1 is 4 (that is the one he wants) the other is 8 months. She is abusive towards the 4 yrs old. She yells and curses at her all the time. Spanks her for no reason. What would you do if you were working part time at 2 stores (The same store name) and you decided to go full time at one of them and the other store director made it sound like she was really mad about the choice???

I work at a gas station and I have been working two different stores in 2 differnt towns. I made the choice to go full time at the one that is closer to me and the one that needs me the most. When I called the store director to let her know my choice she sounded really mad and I don't know what to do.

My 20 year old son received a mip ticket while trying to explain to the officer why his friends were starting a commotion outside of a private residence.
He had a few beers with his father earlier and I dropped him of at his friends house. when an officer arrived at the scene, he smelled beer and gave my son a ticket. If we fight this, will my husband get a ticket for giving our son a beer?
