I've heard that practicing martial arts and being a Christian doesn't mix (as many martial arts contain Buddhist/Taoist influences and require you to meditate on stuff and/or bow to your master, all of which is a grey area for me as a Christian).

All I want is the physical/character-building benefits of martial arts training (discipline, strength, flexibility, self-defence etc.), so am looking for something fairly non-spiritual and ideologically neutral, with meditation sessions kept minimal and low-key.

How does hapkido rate? Is it among the least spiritualistic of the martial arts?

I signed up about 4 years ago for a 1mb unlimited broadband connection with AOL.
today in the mail i receive a letter from aol stating that because I have downloaded over 60gb of mp3's, movies etc i am subject to speed restrictions due to their "Fair use policy"
This to me seems like a breach of contract, seeing as it is not actually an "umlimited" account. it is unlimited in the way that you can keep downloading, but if they're restricting your speed because of the ammount you download that can't be unlimited, because the limit is effecting my broadband speeds.
if not legally a breach of contract what else can i do about this besides ending my registration, which is a last resort but the only one to me it seems.
please don't reply to this question stating "aol are crap" because you are preaching to the choir.
thanks.

When a read it I notice a tone. Just curious.

Also, why does it regurgitate Bible statements an exhausting number of times? "to allah belongs all that is in the earh and the heavens"......over and over.....The Bible already has established that "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth," it is implied that these things belong to him. I've notice this.

Recently, my girlfriend, my brother, and I were out driving. I was driving her car when we were pulled over by two deputies for my failure to use a turn signal. Well my girlfriend gets all jittery and starts moving around which must have raised the deputies suspicions. They gets us all out of the car and while one is watching us the other searches the car. The car is clean with one exception. Under the seat where my girlfriend was sitting is a bag of marijuana. It is beside the point that I knew nothing of this. In any case, we were all three arrested. Here is the core of my question. My brother and I were handcuffed behind the back and my girlfriend under whose seat the weed was found and in whose car it was found was not. The deputies didnt have a third set of cuffs so she was allowed to sit in the back of one of their cars with no cuffs while my brother and I were cuffed behind the back. I thought if you were arrested you got cuffed. And why was she not cuffed when we were?

A young farm lad from North Iowa goes off to college, but about 1/3 of the way through the semester, he has foolishly squandered away all of the money his parents gave him.
Then he gets an idea. He calls his daddy. "Dad," he says, "you won't believe the wonders that modern education is coming up with! Why, they actually have a program here at Iowa State that will teach our dog Ole Blue how to talk!"
"That's absolutely amazing," his father says. "How do I get him in that program?"
"Just send him down here with $1,000" the boy says. "I'll get him into the course. So, his father sends the dog and the $1,000. About 2/3 way through the semester, the money runs out. The boy calls his father again.
"So how's Ole Blue doing, son," his father asks.
"Awesome, Dad, he's talking up a storm," he says, "but you just won't believe this - they've had such good results with this program that they've implemented a new one to teach the animals how to READ!"

"Affirmitave action does not threaten me, it does however anger me. People should be able to stand on their own merits, it is not fair that a white person with better credentials gets turned down for something because the government says we need a minority to fill this space even if they are not as qualified as the other candidates. "

That was written by someone in this forum...my question is WHY DO THEY ASSUME THAT THE OTHER CANDIDATE IS NOT QUALIFIED, JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE A MINORITY?

That would be like hiring a butcher to be a surgeon just for the sake of following regulations...it makes no sense!
