The missionaries brought Jesus to the Australian aborigines in a very novel way.

After being openly slaughtered for years as being savages whose lives had little value, the early to late/mid 20th century saw missionaries forcibly remove aboriginal children from their parents to assimilate them by fostering them out to white families.

After 50 years of this, it was estimated that every aboriginal family in Australia had been affected by the "lost generations" as it is now refered to.

Now it's been reviled that every single aboringinal community in Australia has a major problem with sexual abuse of children, along with drugs and alcohol.

Why has the god of Abraham that the European missionaries forced onto the Australian aborigines foresaken them?

Why do their lives now have so little meaning compared to what they had in the days of their "dreamtime"?

Why do christians so happily destroy cultural identities in their rush to envangelise?

I've taken out my contacts but I went camping and my eyes felt gummy and hurt like I had contacts in and I had been around cats but I didn't and hadn't. I washed my eyes out and eventually felt a little better but they still feel gummy even under my eyes on my cheek bones but washing them out and Visine hasn't helped.

The diverter isn't working right for our 1950's 3-valve shower/tub plumbing. Half the water goes up to shower, half comes out the tub spout. I want to get the diverter out to see if that's where the problem lies. I've got the handle off & can *see* some of the edges of the packing nut, but apparently they cut the tile to fit the stem -after- all of the plumbing was already in place. The hole in the tile is smaller than the entire packing nut (let alone big enough to let me get the socket in & turn it).

I really don't want to re-tile the entire shower. What I'd like to do is to snip the hole in the tile to something that's just barely bigger than the packing nut. How do I cut the tile with the least chance of totally breaking it & having to replace it?

Also, any advice re: fixing the diverter would be appreciated, too!

Trooper Allan Nixon located the car, stuck in deep snow, and with the engine still running. Pulling in behind the car with his emergency lights on, the trooper walked to the driver's door to find an older man passed out behind the wheel with a nearly empty vodka bottle on the seat beside him. The driver woke up when the trooper tapped on the window. Seeing the rotating lights in his rear view mirror, and the State Trooper standing next to his car, the man panicked. He jerked the gearshift into "drive" and hit the gas. The car's speedometer was showing 20-30-40 and then 50 mph, but it was still stuck in the snow, wheels spinning. Trooper Nixon, having a sense of humor, began running in place next to the "speeding," but still stationary car. The driver was totally freaked, thinking the trooper was actually keeping up with him. This went on for about 30 seconds, then the trooper yelled, "Pull over!" The man obeyed, turned his wheel and stopped the engine. Needless to say, the man from DuDumas, Texas was arrested, and is probably still shaking his head over the state trooper in Oklahoma who could run 50 miles per hour. Who says troopers don't have a sense of humor?

I had the ninth (out of twelve) overall pick in teh draft, which took place yesterday.

I think I did incredibly well. But what do you guys think?

Here's my team:

_______________________________

QB:
Matt Leinart
Phillip Rivers

RB:
Cedric Benson
Joseph Addai
Adrian Peterson (Vikings)

WR:
Marvin Harrison
Santonio Holmes
Reggie Wayne

TE:
Marcus Pollard
Jeremy Shockey

K:
Jason Hanson
Robbie Gould

Defense and Special Teams:
DST, Chargers
DST, 49ers

_______________________________

It's a 12 team, NFL.com league, where we can start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, and 1 DST.

I think I have a great team considering what pick I had. The only problem I'm going to have to address, is that all three of my WR's have their bye week on week 6.

But I should be able to solve that by playing the wavier wire before week 6, and pick up a few WR's.

Ok, all you fantasy football gurus.

Rate and comment (comments/suggestions/advice) on my team!

Video games are promoted by the military. They serve as pretraining for special forces! They are building 14 permanent bases in Iraq. Our boys won't be back soon! Military documentaries dominate cable TV.

In a work environment such as "Gray's Anatomy" Issaiah Washington was fired because he made a homophobic invective toward actor T.R. Knight. Although as a christian I don't condone sin, I want someone to tell me why abc allowed an effiminate actor to acknowledge he was gay yet play an important role that made audiences believe is of a male role. As a viewer I expect to believe the acting part and role be portrayed male or female but if the actor acknowledges that he's gay, he has ruined the role because I have a difficult time accepting a doctor's role as being gay. I personally think it's socially unethical.

I know that in DC voltage we have - and + polarities. and in AC voltage we don't have any - or + polarities, because they will be changed by the hertz of the voltage per second. But if the outlets voltage is AC why it doesn't obey this rule?
