There isn't really much you can do.
It depends for differnet people, but usually people just feels tickled cause of the unuse(as in, not yet gotten used to) touch.

That is, if when you touch yourself where your girlfriend hugs you, you don't feel tickled.

You could try changing the way you view/feel things. As in, imagine that your girlfriend is you yourself. So you wouldn't feel tickled. Or somebody you know... That you wouldn't mind being touched.
