Why don't we allow the BBWAA and Veterans Committee to vote purely based on baseball qualifications. If a player qualifies by merit, the player is then contacted and told "congratulations you qualify for the hall of fame. If you want to be inducted however, we're going to need to need you to take a simple polygraph test." Then administer a polygraph asking such questions as "have you ever bet on baseball" or "to your knowledge have you ever used or been administered steroids". If they pass they're in, if not, they can come back next year and take the polygraph again (allowing for the rare false positives or inconclusives). If they die before they pass they're permanently disqualified. Point out to me why this is a bad idea.

Electronic surveillance is ery hard to judge becasue our founding fathers did not conceive of such devices. The dendant gave incrimminating evidence to an informant who was wired, It was upheld because it was felt that talking to the informant was the sae as talking to the informant was the same as talking to the police.

I was in church last night and my pastor was preaching on "PRAYER", he was telling us how people pray and pray and pray, and ask and ask and ask, God for everything! But what about the things he's already given us????? I mean.......come on! We pray....." Lord please give me those shoes I saw yesterday Lord...... they would fit perfectly and look so nice." But what about the shoes you have???????? at least they keep your feet covered! This isn't about shoes.......it's about really thanking God for eveything! It says in I Corinthians 15:57 " But Thanks be untoGod,which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." It also says in Ephesians 5:20," Giving Thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."

KJV.
here is one of my favorite verses.
Luke11:10, " For everyone that asketh receiveth;and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

So I have been with my fiance for 4 years. My in-laws all live 13 hours away ,except my fiances sister who lives in my town about 13 blocks away. I have only talked on the phone with Future MIL when she has sent my daughter gifts and I have called her to thank her for them. I have met her 4 times, during visits. She was there when her son popped the question. My mom in law is a hateful person who hates my fiances dad with a passion. Well she called my one sis-in-law and told her she needed to call me and talk some sense into me, b/c I forgot to invite her husbands "folks". They were never on any list I was given, so I just said "great I will send them one." THen she got upset because we havent asked her to pay for anything. (how are we supposed to know, if she doesnt offer), and she isnt involved in ANY decision making in this wedding. She is somewhat childish, and miserable. Its really gotten me down. How do I deal with her, without being a horrible daughter in law?

I've decided to leave my home of Kentucky for the state of TEXAS (or, should I say, the Republic of Texas.) I love what I've seen: clean roadsides--TX is the cleanest state I've ever been to. It's also the friendliest, most polite state I've ever been to. I love the cities and small towns alike, live music and beautiful parks, great meat, infuse of Mexican culture, beaches, prairies, and (for the most part) weather.

I also know to never incite a debate about UT/A&M football, ever, if I value my life. (Luckily, I haven't done that that.)

All answers welcomed. If you've also lived in or visited Kentucky, you're welcome to compare the two states. God Bless Texas!

Who woulda honestly thought that maybe there's actually religion outside of the US?Although i can only really speak for Canada, but i just think it's unfair that alot of the judgments from Atheists on here come from the Christians there.

Christians are in no way causing problems for our society, government or anything to say the least... if anything they're making our economy better. In fact our catholic schools have the highest grade point averages with the lowest percent of drop outs... and we are required to take 4 years of science so we do know our facts concerning evolution especially.

I'm just sayin it's surprising to hear that the States has all these issues but why can't most of you accept the fact that not ALL Christians EVERYWHERE are like that?

On father's day my step daughter came over and I noticed something different. They both were playing in the pool and I was making lunch, when I kept hearing my husband telling her No! I went to see what was going on and I noticed her trying to kiss her father on the mouth. She kept saying kiss me like you kiss (my name)? He got out of the pool and came inside. We talked about this strange behavior and we were wondering is this normal? Is it for attention? She has a new step- father is something going on in her home we don't know??? Or is it just a young girl loving her daddy?

Well this guy asked me to be his girlfriend and I told him I didn't want a boyfriend right now. My friend told me she saw him looking depressed by his locker with his head resting on his arm from the time she left for lunch and back. I also saw him sulking in the hallway. She asked him what was wrong and he said he was upset about me rejecting him. The weird thing is I NEVER met this guy before. I remember seeing him a few times in the cafeteria, but Iv'e never spoken to him. I don't get it. If he barely knows me then why is he getting so upset?

I am spending five points to make this statement, and I will never again address sunburn!! Due to increases in greenhouse gasses, the radiation we recieve from the sun is magnified, much like a magnifying glass will condense the sun's rays to the point of starting a fire. People who never in the past burned are burning now. USE SUNSCREEN, limit the time you spend in the sun. Deaths from skin cancers called Melanoma are at an all time high and are climbing. The damage you do to your skin in your youth, will result in cancer when you are an adult. Protect your children, protect yourselves or pay the bloody fatal consequences!!!!!

I do not understand why don't you choose to accept the gift of Jesus and spare to yourself eternal damnation, torture and fire. Why do you do this to yourself? Jesus loves you and is giving you a choice not to go to hell, choose Jesus and get saved.
What are you waiting for ?
