Those big helium balloons that they have to advertise things (usually in the shape of a blimp, and often floating above a garage) would one of those have enough lift to carry a full grown person?

Also what would happen if you tied yourself to one and cut it free, how high would it go and when would it come down?

From the sound of things online, it sounds like most atheists here understand why theists would WANT to believe in their respective gods -- it would be GREAT to think that our suffering serves some ultimate purpose, that we will be rewarded for being good people, and the wicked will get their comeuppance.

But I put it to the theists -- do YOU understand why most atheists feel COMPELLED to deny your scripture? Why the "personal revelation" you experience is not a convincing argument, considering human beings' innate knack for self deception? Why the contradiction-riddled holy books, that by your own admission will only make sense AFTER you make up your mind that they MUST be right, are a dubious source of information to us? Why scientific method and principle, with its inherent self-correcting mechanisms and admission of imperfect knowledge, seem like a better means of understanding the universe to us than inflexible dogma that doesn't reflect our expanding knowledge base?

I believe that if a man loves a woman he'll at least try and work to provide for her as its written in the Bible. is this right. I'm confused because i'm suddenly attracted to this guy at the gym. i haven't done anything about it, but i feel my husband is driving me away. Imagine i leave for work in the morning and i leave him in bed and i still have to come and cook supper for him whilst he spends his whole time doing nothing. is this fair. We've been married for a year and 6 months. He's 36 and i'm 29. Please help me.

I have a ganglion cyst on my right wrist. I have been going to the doctors for a while now and have tooken alot of meds for the pain. But it is really now working. Everytime i move and my wrist it hurts. The doctors are telling me they want me to wait until july 3rd to see if has gone away. Than they will talk about removing it. But it has been there since April 26, 2007. It has been 45days. And its not getting any smaller. What should i do? Any advice?

On my way to work this morning I heard a song that said " We promise to love for forever, but then we say maybe forever is too long! Why are we breaking our promises?" That made me think about my own relationship, how sometimes, one thinks, life would be so much easier if we were alone. But after a long thought, I think I'd rather go back to the mentality I use to have that walking away, when things get tough, is not an option.That to make love work, one has to work on it. I'd like for you guys to share with me your opinions or experiences about this. I think that in this day an age, we really should be second guessing why we give up so easily.

I am messed up and in love. Its not because he is the best guy for me, but it is because he pleases me sexually in every way.
(I feel like a guy)
He does nothing right and everything wrong and I would do anything for him just because he's sexy. I mean I have made a total mess of my life.
Now I am considering being with him for good but that is going to also be complicated because he is not a citizen here and I am not one from where he is from. The immigration laws in both countries are so tight that you can't just get married anymore. I don't know if I can be without him that much longer. I have been with him for 2.5 years. I want to spend my life with him because I genuinly like this man. I don't know what to do. I don't think that you should have to jump through hoops in order to be married or in a relationship with someone. I have children here in the united states and I don't want to leave them but they don't live with me and I don't have anything left.
