I just went to Jamaica a few months ago (and a year ago as well). Both times we flew into Montego Bay. Check out Spirit Airlines for some killer prices if they fly near you.
The trip I just took we stayed in Ocho Rios, and the ride from Montego Bay was an hour and a half.
The trip a year before that was in Negril, and the ride from Montego Bay was about an hour and a half.
The new road to Ocho Rios is well on its way to being done. There was only maybe 30-45 minutes of the old, bumpy road. It really wasn't that bad, I think people are just too picky about smooth roads....you're in Jamaica people...ummmm hello!!! I enjoyed seeing all the people, towns, etc as we drove by, you got to see the island.

Well I know that most people that go to Ocho Rios or other parts of the country in Jamaica fly to the Sangster International Airport which is in Montego Bay. If you are a tourist and staying in Ocho Rios I recommend fly to Montego Bay

If you are going to Ocho Rios it's best to take a flight to Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay because it's the closet airport about 45 minutes away. The other international aiport is Norman Manley in Kingston which is further away from Ocho Rios, it is about 1 1/2 hours or more.

You'll ned to fly in to Mo Bay...then you can fly Tim Air to Ocho Rios. Go to TimAir .com and see if they are scheduled into Ocho Rios - I know they use to be and it sure beets the 2 hour bus ride. Tim Air is a small air charter company that flies between airports in Jamaica.

First of all there are only two International Airports in Jamaica, one in Montego Bay and one in Kingston. It would be best if you fly in at the Mo-Bay Airport.

as far as I know there is only 2 International Airports in Jamaica. One in Montego Bay, the Donald Sangers International Airport and one in Kingston, the Norman Manley International Airport.
I would recommend that you fly to Kingston and take a JUTA Bus to Ocho Rios. Ocho is approximately 1 hour from Kingston if they take the Toll Roads.

well the best thing to do is take a flight to MBJ Airport then drive to Ocho Rios. It will take you about 2hours without traffic, 2 1/2 with traffic.

I would guess an airport or the sky would be the best place to fly in Jamaica, or anywere.
