people who are going to hate someone because of their ethnicity are racist and that does not just change because it's been several years since 9 11. i do think a lot of people have had time to calm down since then and realize thier fears were unrational. hate is different than fear.

There never was "hatred towards middle easterners."

Look - I live in the Detroit area which has like 300,000+ middle easterners here. The girl who cuts my hair is an Iraqi immigrant. The guy who owns the liquor store around the block is Iraqi too. There were no (or very few) incidents of hatred or violence here, and this is the biggest population of middle easterners in the country.

It was "assumed" that after 9/11 there would be backlash against middle easterners. Other than a few isolated incidents, however, it simply did not happen.

I am so sick of the US being portrayed as some intolerant nation of bigots. There are more racial, ethnic and religious groups living in harmony in the US than in any other country in the world. Historically, the US had problems, as will happen anytime different populations are mashed together. However, I encounter, new immigrants all the time -- arabic accents, German, French, Scandinavian, British, various African and various Spanish/Latin accents -- and there is never an issue.

That's the reality of day-to-day life in the US. 99% of us are tolerant and accepting people.

Well if by hatred you mean are there people still racist towards them then I would defiantly say yes. I think when people defines someone as racist they expect everyone to be angry towards them but I don't see it that way. No one is born racist or hates another country unless they have a reason to and eastern people coming over here blowing up our country is a bloody good enough reason for me, I think it's ridiculous how people expect everyone to see everyone else equal when were clearly not, Pakistan,Iraq,Iran, all them country's to me are not equal because if they was they would of advanced like everyone else but instead they kill innocent people, start wars and have zero respect for anyone else, so unless they start to change there way and fast then every country around them will be racist and show hatred towards them.

I was never really aware of it. When I was a kid, my best friend was a member of a Lebanese family. When I was in college, I had a friend from Morocco. One of my dance instructors was a guy from Turkey. More recently, I have been speaking with a guy from Iran using Skype.

People from the middle east are no different than anybody else. Sure, some of them may be Muslims or Syrian orthodox, but that doesn't bother me. We need to have respect for people no matter where they come from.

The fact that I have friends from the middle east does not, however, keep me from wanting to support the right of Israel to continue to exist as a nation.

see you later simply by certainty the middle-Easterners blow up industry places, colleges, police stations, embassies, college buses, trains, one yet yet another, their very very own government, i think of they might't anticipate very plenty admiration. The Germans and the eastern have been crushed into the floor, yet whilst the conflict replace into over, they by united statesa. worked difficult to rebuild their worldwide places, and grew to grow to be 2 of the richest worldwide places indoors the worldwide. The Muslims are doing each element opposite. If the Muslims are sensible , the Germans and eastern are fairly stupid.
