I do too. It seems like the people in my area have a starring problem. It doesn't matter where I go or what I am doing, people just stare. Even driving down the street. I think that is so very rude. Who cares what people look like. This even bothers my child. It has gotten so bad here, that she even notices.

The old people are the worst, they expect you to move over on the pavement, let them go first in ques and for them to take your seat on public transport - which I will say I pay just as much if not more than them to sit down so why should I be expected to move out the way. Don't get me wrong if they generally cannot stand then I will give my seat up.
I feel better now I've got that off my chest.

sometimes polite is just not an option. Somepeople if you try to be polite they just don't get it. I try to be painfully polite and have good manners in all situations, but there are times when manners and politeness must be thrown a side for reallity.

Yes, I hate (for example) when you open the door for somebody and they don't smile, nod, say thank you, anything. But then that same person, if you were to not hold the door open, would happily insult you. Manners cost nothing!

Politeness costs nothing and it's not a difficult task, so why not be polite?
