I have 5 yrs background in e-learning industry as a designer of industry and gov't training material. My degrees are BA linguistics and MEd in educational technology.

For my master's degree, I did take courses in financial management and systems theory (applied to non-profit orgs such as schools, etc.) but basically I'd be starting from zero with basic accounting courses, and a 2nd masters degree (MBA, MAcy).

Will I be out of a place (just call me "gramps":) as an entry-level accountant along with 22-30 year olds at a big 4 firm?

Advice for breaking into this field for an until-now academic and soft-skills guy who is good at numbers and detailed analysis?

That will direct you on your voting decision?

Based on the answers, if you would vote for an Atheist, seems to be split down the middle, HOWEVER if you were asked would you vote for a Homosexual President? I am sure many of you would say no but I could be wrong...

People for the most part are easily swayed by the masses, just to fit into society, they want to be PC and people please.

This is what most Independents and Republicans think of the Democrat agenda. President Bush has made some grave mistakes, but we are far better off than Kerry being in office or Al Gore and his Global Warming drivel.

Do you draw the line on morality in who can be Presdient of the USA?

The truck overheated, Blew the head gasket. Pulled motor apart, replaced all the gaskets, and noticed the head had a crack in it. So I replaced the head head today and when I put it on the block to bolt it down it rocks back and forth a little bit. It doesn't sit level on it. My worst fears would be a warped head but im unsure. Any helpful ideas?

I'm going to a wedding (out of state) in August. My friend registered at a few different places, but I would rather give her cash. Is this considered acceptable, or would it be tacky?

Our government pays BILLIONS of our hard-earned tax money to subsidize multibillion-dollar corporations like Wal-Mart. However, is that really compatible with the concept of capitalism? After all, capitalism is supposed to be about competition and "survival of the fittest". The companies that are able to keep up with the demands of the consumers swim, and those that aren't able sink.

MS Excel is a very common tool to perform statistics analysis, but I just wonder if Excel is the best in the market or if it even suitable for statistics. There are other tools like Originlab, Systat, Matlab, Mathematica, etc, that might better. What do you think?

but i want to go back to school

his anwser is" we will see." " what about the kids he says" he controls me with money i want to buy a shirt " no don't you think you have enough clothes." I don't know if i can take it much longer. i know married couples should compromise and give sometime. but he is a flirtateous hypocrite who has a cave man attitude when it comes to marriage. People say oh you have a good marriage. yeah as long as things are going his way. God forbid i go to school anyway he would throw a fit. like i said before overall its an ok married i guess but these issues kill the core of me. they make me want to scream. what do i say or what actions do i need to take to make him less controlling. although i want a divorce he won't give me one and i don't work and have no way to pay for a lawyer or even the filing fees. he won't go to counselling... i have four kids and my heart says he is a good father shut up and live don't break your kids hearts

My ex died in California on Aug. 12, 2005, his name was Gregory Allen Porter, born June 15, 1951. I have not heard from him in several years and cannot locate any of his family to find out info on how, where, etc. he died. I have found his name in SS death index but would love to know what happened to cause him to die or even an obituary. I have searched the net for obits but have not found anything. His last place of residence was Escondido, CA. His parents were Otis and Nellie Porter. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

i had a scan at under 6 weeks to check the pregnancy was inside the uterus. This was done because i was admitted to hospital due to pain, however it was related to my bowels and had no significance to the pregnany. Anyway everything was fine exceopt there being no heartbeat, the midwife said it was too early to see at this stage, but that they would re-scan in a 2 weeks just incase of blighted ovum or a missed miscarriage but that she wasnt really worried. I just wondered if anyone could give me any information on these, mainly i'd like to know if either of them occur do you continue to get pregnancy symptoms and for how long for? any information would be greatly appreciated as the doctor midwife did not give me much to go on.
