you'll pee in a cup then and at every visit afterward. they'll weigh you at every visit. ask you a whole bunch of questions, write you a rx for prenatal vitamins, do a pap smear, probably do blood work, check your blood pressure, and they may even do an ultrasound to determine your due date if youre unsure about when you conceived.

Mostly forms. Complete clinical historical past. If you have not been to that health practitioner earlier than, the entire commonplace forms. Possibly a pap smear should you do not have a up to date one. Probably a few blood paintings. And the commonplace stuff that you're going to have at each appointment - weight and pee in a cup. They would possibly concentrate and notice if they may be able to listen the heart beat, relying on how a long way alongside you're. Usually they would possibly not do an ultrasound until you do not know your dates in any respect.

When I went to my first doctor's appointment I had a very similiar experience as to the other people who answered.

Checked weight, urine sample, blood pressure, blood test, pap smear & confirmed the pregnancy with an internal ultrasound.

They check your urine, blood pressure, weight, height, etc. The doctor examines you and may check for the baby's heartbeat. You may meet with a nutritionist who will give you an estimate of how much weight you should gain during your pregnancy and will give you some suggestions on how to manage your weight and handle morning sickness. You will have blood drawn for lab tests and an HIV test. Then they will schedule you to come back in one month. You may have an ultrasound done to see how far along you are.

They'll take your blood to test you for all kinds of stuff, a pap smear, ask you some background information (Heredity and stuff like that), maybe even try to find the heartbeat, you ask the doctor any questions that you have, most likely perscribe you prenatal vitamins, check your weight and blood pressure, pee in a cup, feel around around your breast, and check your uterus....kind of like a big check up...

I'm almost 5 months and all my doctor did was make me pee in a cup, weigh me, take blood pressure and do a ultrasound, which mine was an internal (feels just like a reg. pap smear). They talked to me about all kinds of stuff and gave me my due date. Make sure you have a good idea of when your last menstral period was. And then you get goody bag!

Health history, breast exam, pap smear (if you haven't had your yearly), cervix check, they take blood for different tests, weight, figure out the due date, ask a bunch of questions regarding a birth plan...you also get a lot of baby pamphlets and samples!!! Congrats!!!!!!

when i found out i was pregnant a few years ago they had me come in and take their pregnancy test then i came back for my appointment and i had a pap smear, they check your insides and i am trying to remember but i am pretty sure they do a blood test. (it's been two years) nothing weird just like a normal checkup only your babies in there. congratulations!!!

This is where they get their baseline levels. They'll weigh you, make you pee in a cup, do a dipstick test for protein, ketones and glucose in the urine. They'll check for fetal heart (if your visit is after 6-8 weeks), measure your belly, feel for your uterus, do bloodwork and sometimes schedule an ultrasound for definite confirmation of pregnancy.
