Yes at first it can be annoying, but when you really think about it, it's kind of funny in a stupid sort of way- not only for them to actually do that, but to allow it to bother us in the first place!
They are complete and total strangers-they know nothing about us unless we write our whole life story on yahoo!answers!
I don't care what they think about me, but I do get annoyed more when people do not have enough knowledge on topics before they condemn and/or ridicule it (ie.homosexuality, religion, politics, etc).
The importance of self-education regarding topics that are not necessary taught in school is very important.
Not only are they being disrespectful to others, they come across as ignorant and dumb.

Yes, forever I've been assumed to be Mexican, when I'm Native American, so now I just say "sure" when someone asks me, cause I wouldn't mind being either one. Both proud heritages...

Assumptions makes an *** out of them and you and they should not label you or anyone for that matter without knowing all the facts to the situation.

Yeah! I feel people perceive wrong things about you? Based on their insecurities. It's a shame? But it's also the truth.

Very much so. Especially when middle-age white women lock their car doors or clutch their purses when they see me walk by.
