Deterioration?

Some people believe canned the food has already deteriorated since most food are cooked in the can during the canning process.

If you don't want to food to deteriorate even more, then use the microwave so the food heats up quickly. You'll have to stir to ensure even heating, but this is less stirring than cooking on a stove top. Stirring being another cause of the food deteriorating in texture.

Open the can and put them in a glass bown or something that is not metallic and place in the microwave for a minute or two to heat up and it should be fine.

If you mean loss of goodness/vitamins etc. it is best to tip out the contents into a non-metallic container and microwave it. Because microwaving is so fast, more of the goodness remains whereas boiling vegetables (for example) causes a considerable loss of goodness
