US history class we watched a movie about the 54th massachusets. I have a question from it that i have to answer, but i couldnt get it from the movie.
the question is...
Who was John Andrew? How did he help pave the way for black men to enlist in the war? Why do you think he wanted black enlisted men to be the cream of the North and not born into slavery?

I will not take your answeres word by word, i just need a general idea to write my answer. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone had any info.

Using a small steam engine, which is more efficient, cleaner and simpler than an IC engine, to run an alternator to keep the batteries charged to power the electric motors, solves the problem of short ranges for EV's. It also solves the drawbacks of straight steam power. Water tube boilers do not explode. Thermoelectrics could also generate electricity from the waste heat making it more efficient. It could also use any liquid or gaseous fuel made, reducing dependence on oil.

The steam engine people feel steam is perfect as is, it's not, and refuse to consider a hybrid. The electric vehicle people feel EV's are perfect, they are not, and refuse to consider a hybrid. The Internal Combustion people are married to Big Oil and their hybdrids are so complex to hold down the normal IC pollution that they break down regularly. Can't afford to build one myself. Anyone interested out there?

I thought Fox News had a STRONG Republican bias, and that everything they reported on furthered the Republican Agenda.

And yet they gave Michael Moore's new movie "Sicko" a FANTASTIC review:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,273875,00.html

Last I heard, Moore was NOT a Republican. So, could it be that Fox News is REALLY unbiased, and maybe it is the LIBERAL news programs that paint them that way?

Or, do you think (and the Liberals are going to love this one) they are only doing it to trick us into believing they are unbiased? Those scoundrels!

Or maybe reality has a Conservative bias! I know this sounds dumb also, but I have heard Liberals use this as an excuse for MSNBC.

So, why is Fox News giving this movie such good reviews, if they are part of the Republican machine? No matter what, I will rent it when it comes out on video (no way I'm giving Moore $15). If Fox News likes it, it must be good.

I ask this question because i found an article, by, Amartya Sen, (1990) that estimated that approximately 100 million women were missing. I came across this in a small publication that devotes the majority of it concerns toward women's issues. I would think this would be big news, evidently the mainstream media did not. I don't remember hearing anything about it on mainstream or reading about it. Sort of reminds me of when Clinton was president and people in the states were not aware that in Rawanda militants were killing people left and right, i don't remember that getting alot of press either.

Post ing again about the same guy. I love him, but I don't think he loves me anymore. We live in two different states and it can be really difficult to maintain a relationship. On our last phone conversation, I was kind of upset because I felt like he was ignoring me. He told me I needed to " miss him less". I didn't understand. I love him and it gets really hard to live each day without him. When I thought about it, I think it was his way of saying " I don't love you anymor" but just in a nicer, don't hurt feelings tone. But it did, because in my heart I knew he didn't love me anymore. I'm trying to let go and need help. Any suggestions?

My dad and I have the hardest time caring for them. They always seem to die. My bf's mom has the greatest luck with them, and she says all she does is plant them and water them. I doubt if it's the soil because we live in the same area. Anyone have any personal tips they've learned while growing them? We don't want to let it die, because it's a rosebush we received at my mother's funeral last year.

I think so - just as it is in scotland!
I recently petitioned my MP asking him to support a Manifesto being put to parliament in which it would make it easier for women to breastfeed in public and once they returned to work. This is really important as many women stop breastfeeding much earlier than they would like as they feel they are unsupported. Many women are being asked to feed their babies in toilets rather than in public and this has to stop.
My MP refused to put his name to the manifesto. He believes a voluntary code would work better – unfortunately this has been the case for some time already and it just isn’t working. I am taking this matter further in the hope of getting more support for this manifesto.
I need you to go to digg.com and register your support. All you have to do is go here: http://digg.com/political_opinion/MP_s_Attitude_to_Breastfeeding_Manifesto/ and press ‘Digg it’ under the number on the right. If you do not have an account then it takes just seconds!
