About how we turn people away from the US and how we can't smoke a cigarette on the streets of some cities, or how we have to take drug tests when we work so they know what we do at home. Even how we have to go to school until your 18 or how you have to were a seat belt in a car. How the government tells businesses how much they have to give there employees. How we have to pay taxes on a war that the majority doesn't want going on. How would they react that we don't have the freedom they fought for but we are run instead by a kind a government that does the same thing?

Met a guy around 10 months ago through another guy friend we were like best friends and were also very attracted to each other. During the early stages he told me that he wasn’t looking for a serious relationship with any1 at the moment. So we were not intimate, but stayed close and got even closer than before. That was when he started saying that I am someone that he would like to be with as he has a soft spot for me, I am very intelligent, ambitious and very articulate. Then eventually we started seeing each other officially & things didn’t 100% work out, but could of as we got on SO WELL!! he still wasn’t in the frame of mind for a relationship & he was a very self centered and indecisive which were his down sides. we both tried to move on several times and would get back again. We finally broke things off as I gave him 1 last chance to tell me what exactly he wanted with regards to a relationship and he said that we should be friends as he cant give me or anyone that right now

I know some people put salt on it, some drizzle it with honey and lemon juice. As for me, I just eat it as is right out of the rind with a fork and knife. I've been partial to seedless lately, but its not a must- as long as its super sweet I'm happy! What about you?

Why does fear dominate love in most situations?

How can we have a real discussion about Mideast peace if speaking honestly about "Israel" is out of bounds?

Ever wonder what it's like to be a pariah?
Publish something sharply critical of "Israeli" government policies and you'll find out. If you're lucky, you'll merely discover that you've been uninvited to some dinner parties. If you're less lucky, you'll be the subject of an all-out attack by neoconservative pundits and accused of rabid anti-Semitism.

In a climate in which good-faith criticism of "Israel" is automatically denounced as anti-Semitic, everyone loses. "Israeli" policies are a major source of discord in the Islamic world, and anger at "Israel" usually spills over into anger at the U.S., "Israel's" biggest backer.
With resentment of "Israeli" policies fueling terrorism and instability both in the Middle East and around the globe, it's past time for Americans to have a serious national debate about how to bring a just peace to the Middle East. But if criticism of "Israel" is out of bounds, that debate can't occur - and we'll all pay the price.

Many accounts in the early Torah/Old Testament indicate that early humans had multi-hundred year life spans. By later years, and certainly no later than New Testament times, we see humans with lifespans more comparable to our own. Is there a specific point in the Bible where we can see this shift? Are there Talmudic commentaries that explain why this shift occurred? Was the shift gradual or sudden?

And, of course, non-JudeoChristians can answer, but I'm looking specifically for this shift. In fact, just pretend like I'm talking about the story of the Bible, and conducting literary analysis--I'm looking for, within the context of that story, when the shift occurred, and what the "author's" reasoning for the shift was.

When we decide it's not important to empathize with another person, we are basically deciding they are not a person anymore. Wheter it's a slave, or an infidel, or a child murderer, we come up with ways to justify NOT empathizing with the person. It stops mattering to us, then, if they miss their children, love their family, or get raped in prison. We do it all the time. But is it right? Our morality, I think, is based on empathy for others...we care about their feelings because we care about FEELINGS we relate to. Do we lose our morality when we quit caring about the feelings of a killer, or a Jew? Is there any justifiable reason to "yank" our empathy out from under another person, ever?

IOWA CITY, Iowa Oct 26, 2004 — The Bush administration is trying to stifle scientific evidence of the dangers of global warming in an effort to keep the public uninformed, a NASA scientist said Tuesday night.

"In my more than three decades in government, I have never seen anything approaching the degree to which information flow from scientists to the public has been screened and controlled as it is now," James E. Hansen told a University of Iowa audience.

Hansen is director of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York and has twice briefed a task force headed by Vice President Dick Cheney on global warming.

Hansen said the administration wants to hear only scientific results that "fit predetermined, inflexible positions." Evidence that would raise concerns about the dangers of climate change is often dismissed as not being of sufficient interest to the public.
