I have been a waitress for a little over three months now. With a 4 table section on a Sunday, I can make somewhere between $50-100. On a weekday, with a larger section, I can make between $80-100, normally around 80 or lower. The head waitress has been waitressing for a lot longer, understandable, and makes more than me, but I would like to make as much as she is - any tips? (no pun intended)

It stays on for like 15 minutes, then the hose pops up and the water starts going everywhere. I tighten the 3 clamps as tight as possible, but it keeps coming off anyway. I don't know what else to try to keep it on. Any suggestions, like glue or tape or something else?

Nadiya - Et C'est Parti

I study French, but I don't think this makes a lot of sense:

Et c’est parti pour le show
Et c’est parti le stade est chaud
Et c’est parti bouges-toi sur ce floor (non non non non non non)

And it left for the show? And it left the stage is hot?

Obviously the singer, who is French, knows more than I do, but I don't understand how it makes sense.

Last summer I left my job and returned to school to get a law degree. I have an IRA worth approximately $25,000, and my wife has one worth about $12,300. Since we expect to only have about $5,000 in income for 2007, I was thinking it might be a good idea to convert both IRA's into ROTH IRA's. Is there anything I should know or consider before doing this?

I'm a big fan of index funds, particularly Vanguard's 500 Index and any EAFE (international) index.

I feel, however, that indexes like the S&P 500 could be "tweaked a bit" by excluding those sectors or industries of the economy that have traditionally not done well in a long time.

For example, I'd be interested in an S&P 500 index fund MINUS industries like food production (which has posted negative returns in profits AND shareholder value for the past 10 years!) and several others. Is this a sound strategy?

On a similiar note, is there any website that shows a COMPLETE history of economic sectors of the stock market? I'm interested in finding if any one sector has consistently beaten other sectors of the market over 20 or even 30 years of time (not interested in YTD, 3 or 5 year charts, though).

Thanks for your help.

Now I haven't known you very long and I shouldn't be asking you for this so soon, but I really need it badly.

I haven't had it for a while and I can already feel it going in good and hard and coming out nice and soft.

If you would do this for me no one would ever know.

I am sure you can satisfy my needs and I'd be very grateful if you would.

I am very desperate and I need your help.

You must think by now that I have a lot of nerve but I can feel my tongue wrapping around it and sucking out all the juices until it's very dry.

I am not going to beat around the bush any longer so.

OK, they pray. So what.... Does God talk to them like he does to George Bush? What if he tells you one thing and someone else another? Do Christians let the pastor decide which goal is the worthy goal to achieve or do they vote on it? Does each individual decide for themself? Is there a cummulative effect that will attained from multiple God goals based on individual or multiple group decisions? Are these goals ever combative against one another? ( Iraq is supposedly the result of God guidance { GW said so} so why are things so bad there?) Is it God's will that some can afford health care and others can't? Is God's goal inequity in a nation that was established for the equality of all men? That's what we have!!!!! If that's the case then our forefathers must have read the God signs wrong or maybe you're reading them wrong today.

Or maybe there is no god.

I just came across this curious study which does not find a statistical effect of prayer on the life expectancy of clergy versus everybody else. A lot of the rest of the paper does seem to be anecdotical however. Comments and suggestions for more modern studies on the subject?
