While waiting at a Bank Officer’s desk, I saw a lanky old man walking in with his need to open a Savings Bank Account to present a Government cheque expiring soon, he received in his honor as an Indian National Army Soldier. He presented his old school certificates to reveal his identity and told him that the Account will be used only once and that too related to this cheque. In the normal way any Bank Officer of the present genre would have him driven out. But this officer patiently heard him, asked details and handed over an application form and asked one of his assistants to help him in filling the application. I was deeply moved when wiping out his tears the officer asked me to observe the plight of freedom fighters who live unrecognized while we enjoy the fruits of freedom and our leaders go on draining our nation itself. I did not remain there long, but I am sure the poor old man got his job done and that too with great honour. How will you react to this noble gesture?

Someone yesterday said the Indians have no pitching at all.Heres what I posted in response.Do you agree or disagree?

To bright person a few above me-how can you say the Indians have no pitching?Sure Tigers may be better but look at the rotation

Sabathia-Flat out stud,a true ace,one of the best in the game today.Lead league in CG,Shutouts in 2006(current record 6-1)

Lee-Just back form injury and a week ago pitched a 3 hitter.Along with Westbrook 1 of 4 pitchers to win at least 14 games every season since 2004.(CR 1-0)

Westbrook-On DL now but when he's on he's a groundball machine.Lead league in groundball % in 2006.(CR1-2)

Sowers-Struggeling now but was a star rookie last year. Had the best era after the all star break last year expect for a man named Clemens. Also lead the league in shutouts tied with Sabathia.(CR 0-3)

Byrd-Has been phenominal this year. Has around a 3 ERA and the Indians have scored little for him. (CR 3-1)

Carmona or Adam Miller anyone?

I rescued a lab puppy (female), who is now about 10 months old. I haven't had her spayed yet, but I keep her in a fenced yard with only my other desexed dogs. Now my Jack Russell won't leave her alone.

At first one might expect him to be emboldened by such support or proud. But humbled?

What do you really think he means by this? Is he deliberately effecting humility to cover up his hubris or does he have such virtue that a mere mortal like me does not perceive?

I live in military housing with hubby and 3 kids, where we live is insane. We live in what they call satellite, we live out in the rural area about 20 miles from bases, the problem we're having is the kids are taking over and destroying everything. there have been atleast 5 car broken into in 2 days, their breaking into empty units, their breaking windows, we have the sheriffs office out here all the time, and with school getting out soon it will be worse, we have no security, they say its to much for gas to send security here. and since the public eyes doesn't see they don't care. and pretty much once you pick a house off base they won't let you move to base, we are really at lost on what to do. We love our kids school and there are no places to buy or rent in that area, thats why we live here also they take housing pay out, between 1000 and 1300 depending on rank. But we feel very unsafe, we though about calling the news but we've been warned spouses jobs would be at stake. HELP...

...foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference said this week.

“It is something that has assumed xenophobic proportions,” they said.

The ministers described Islamophobia as a deliberate defamation of Islam and discrimination and intolerance against Muslims. They accused Western media of misrepresenting Islam and Muslims worldwide, according to a report in Arab News.

The linkage of terrorists and extremists with Islam in a generalized manner is unacceptable," the ministers said.

[In his words, The Pope or cartoons depicting Islam as a violent religion is worse than blowing up people and structures. In other words, keep quiet or you are worse than a murderer.]

Im graduating high school in a few days and I keep thinking that the whole experience has been a failure. I basically made like no friends at all. I mean its not like people hate me they like me but theres so many people I never got to know. I guess I sort of set myself up for this because I had this idea in my mind of how this year was going to be so perfect and I'd make up for all the lost time. But I feel further away from them than I ever have. I thought once I graduated I would just forget about it but I don't think so now this is going to stay with me. How can I fix this problem? I mean I know life goes on but it just seems so incomplete. Should I try to hang out with them over the summer? Maybe then at least I can feel a little more at peace. Its like a mix of regret, self-hatred, and guilt, and incompletion.

OK, I'm having a bit of a get together at the weekend with my two sisters and our boyfriends, and as it's my eldest sister's birthday and she absolutely loves jokes, she has challenged us to all come up with a fantastic joke and the best one wins a prize. Come on everyone, I need your suggestions!

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.

But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.
"I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my si de causes water to leak out all the way back to your house."

The old woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?"

"That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them."

"For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.

Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.

You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

SO, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!
