I was thinking about this as I have a friend that has to have everything perfect, and expects her friends/family to make things perfect for her as well. Is this stemming from something? Her childhood was good, but is it hiding insecurity or something else? What does perfectionism result from? She's ultra competitive too, very Type A.

My dad had a tumour like 5 years ago. He got it removed by surgery. This year at April, the tumour reappeared... this time there was two. So he had surgery and got them removed and they said that they burned that spot so no more tumour comes. He had an appointment today and they said that he needed chemotherapy for 6 weeks every Wednesday. Is this because of cancer? If so, can it be cured?

Morgan has $50,000 to invest and wants to receive $5,000 interest the first year. He puts part in CDs earning 5.75% APY, part in bonds earning 8.7% APY, and the rest in a growth fund earning 14.6% APY. How much should he invest at each rate if he puts the least amount possible in the growth fund?

I can't figure out the work, but the answers are in the back.
They are: $0 CDs, $38,983.05 bonds, and $11,016.95 growth fund.

Tell me, because I really want to know. As far as I can see, all the sellers agent really does is find a buyer. Everything else is taken care of by the Title, Insurance and Escrow company.

At a few hundred bucks or so, I can get my listing on the MLS, AND hire a real estate attorney to make sure I do everything all legal-like. Sure beats paying a realtors sky high commission for sitting back and waiting for a buyers agent to come-a-calling!

With the internet available, a real estate agent is redundant. - even for the buyers. A buyer can search the listings on all sorts of websites and completely eliminate the real estate agent. Thus eliminating the need for thier 3% or more cut.

I am going to For Sale By Owner route. I have set a price according to the CMA's I recieved by the competing agents who are wanting to list my house, so how can I lose if I get my asking price or maybe a little under?

Am I wrong? If so, please enlighten me.

Hi, I have a 10 month old boy, still a wee baby of course. My problem is my mother buys him age non-appropriate toys and when I tell her about it, she says 'Well, just save it for later'. She saw a good price and got him a hard plastic dump truck with sharp edges - so that's in the closet for much later.

She got him teddy bears for an older child with ribbons and sewn in plastic/glass eyes, so those are being saved for later too.

For his birthday in 2 months, shes told me many times she wants to get him a BRIO train set. I told her I saw the recommended age of 3-7 yrs. on those sets. She said 'well I want him to have it just in case I die, he'll know it's a big gift from grandma'...She's not dying anytime soon: she always says things like this, so you know.

What do I do? I don't want to clog up my closets and house with toys that are far off for him to use. And I don't want to be mean about it. I've tried explaining it to her too. I've heard bad stories of kids using toys that are too old for them (Magnetix) and swallowing pieces..
thanks!

One can see on the ends of the tube when turned on a little glow but fails to light the bulb. When I twist the tube back and forth a few times I can get it to light up and stay lit. Then when I turn it off at the switch and try again it does the same thing. Everything is brand new. Thanks for your help.

I eat a lot of low calorie foods but they all seem to have a lot of sugar. Like I eat pudding that has 100 calories and ten fat calories but 16 grams of sugar. If I eat foods like this all the time is it going to cause me to gain weight or since it is low in calories will I be ok?
