Im always confused on if you tip them. There is always 5-7 people washing your car. Who do you tip and how much?

I tip them if they finish the car. If it is just a mechanical wash and leave, no tip. If they clean the windows and make sure the car is clean, I give them 2 or 3 dollars.

The car wash I go to has a mailbox at the end where you pick your car up that says "tips" on it. I usually leave a tip in there (about 20% of the cost of the wash). If I go to a different car wash there is no tip box and there are 5-7 people washing my car, I wouldn't leave a tip. You can't very well tip all 7 people now can you?

I usually tip a dollar to two. My car wash has a tip box, so I assume at the end of the day, the tips money is divided among the workers.

They usually have a tip jar and the tips are split among everyone. I usually tip $5 and if the car is really a mess, I ask them to please do a little more than just vaccum and "dust". I then give them a 10 and then they do a great job.

depends on the car wash. some don´t pay their employees very much because they work for tips. their pay is for the taxes they must pay. like in restaurants, waiters and waitresses, they only make one or two dollars an hour, and that pay is to the taxes they have to pay on their tips.
i have heard you should pay fifteen percent of the bill extra as a tip. some thing like that. I have just given a couple dollars and let them divide it up.

When we did the car wash that they dry the cars at we mostly did not because they did a crappy job. There was one guy we tipped. An older guy that busted his butt. Then he wasn't there anymore and we heard that he died. We only do touchless now since we got some scratches a few times at the dry your car ones. Mostly my husband washes our cars. he does an excellent job.
