One can see on the ends of the tube when turned on a little glow but fails to light the bulb. When I twist the tube back and forth a few times I can get it to light up and stay lit. Then when I turn it off at the switch and try again it does the same thing. Everything is brand new. Thanks for your help.

be sure the bulb is in correctly, with the pins in the socket.... try twisting the bulb another half turn or so... it has to seat properly.... or just take it back...maybe it is a defect from the manufacturer... but it just sounds like poor continuity to the contacts... try another bulb...

It sounds like you don't have a solid connection. You're getting some juice, hence the little glow, but apparently your connection needs to be checked.

Better yet, take the fixture back to where you bought it and exchange it for another one.

sometimes when the tube incorrectly installed, the pin at end of tube got loose then it can not have good connection if the tube is ok you got to try to change or refit the starter again if those are fine check the wiring from ballast transformer maybe they are not connected properly. good luck

Either it is a fault in the electrical line that has just been installed or the light fitting is faulty. I would return the light fitting first, if the next one does the same, then you know that it is the electrical work

Just because it's new doesn't mean it's any good. Try a different lamp. If it won't work. Take the fixture back.

that uassly happens when the pins arn't in the tombstone (connection on the LT) if you are second guessing if the tube is all the way in, it isnt, twist it more, or depending on the type of tombstone, push in more.

I have seen many of the pins damaged on these lamps. Check closely.
