Cosmic rays colliding with atoms in the upper atmosphere of the Earth create muons, some of which move downward toward the Earth’s surface. The mean lifetime of downward muons in one such burst is measured to be 16 microseconds.

(a) Find the speeds of these muons relative to the Earth.
(b) Moving at this speed, how far will the muons move in one half-life?
(c) How far would this pulse move in one half-life if there were no relativistic time stretching?
(d) In the relativistic case, how far will the pulse move in 10 half-lives?
(e) An initial pulse consisting of 10^8 muons is created at a distance above the Earth surface given in part (d). How many will remain at the Earth’s surface?

Assume that the pulse moves vertically downward and none are lost to collisions. Note: 99% of the Earth’s atmosphere lies below 40 km altitude. Explain the answers

I have my health, a good job, a loving and supportive family, a good car, my own place soon and improving credit (slowly but steadily). I also have friends, people in my life who care about me.......

Yet the dating thing NEVER works out. I didn't date in hs, I went on dates in a college, had a relationship, and sort of another one, but knew lots of girls too who ALWAYS said something like "you're a great guy, "you're awesome"......

Why would they say when I ask them out and then date someone else?

I've been played lots of head games with, with women acting like they like me and then when I talk to them about it they just say "Oh, this is how I am", or "Im kind of seeing someone."
Countless times I've talked and approached women everywhere, all "types" and all of them either "had a bf", had a bf, or "let me just say, 'you're awesome'"-----

I haven't been with someone in 3 years, and while im focusing on career, it's hard sometimes.

Symptoms:
I fell Nauseaus randomly mostly when i smell something wired.
My boobs are bigger but not tender.
I have headaches alot.
I am gasy more than ever.
and I have had random lower stomach pains.

Both my elbow's are really sore.Particularly my right elbow.I 'm 18,Haven't hurt them in anyway.I can't lean on them and when i hold my arm up i get shooting pains.They feel swollen and like there's fluid in them.I don't have a problem with any other joints.Does anyone have a clue what this may be? My girlfriend and I started going out last summer. We eventually hit a bump when a guy said that they were going out, but he said he didn't realize we were going out. I broke up with her in october, and we didn't start talking again until march. After a while after we started talking again I saw her myspace page, and it seemed like she was REALLY depressed. She went on and on about how she lost the love of her life because some other guy was jealous and was trying to break us up. Now we're back together and she is a lot happier. She says I make her smile and laugh more than any other person ever. She says I am the only one that makes her feel like she means something. I respect her entirely. She recently told asked me to promise that as soon as we're both 18, we marry. I would love nothing more than to spend the rest of our lives together. Hello my married need help my husband and I are currently living apart we have 3 babies (1-2-3-) I know LOL, we are Christian and we both are in a leadership role at our church we both have issue that need to be fix I start working on my self and building up my self we have tried Marriage counseling (one session) so you know that did not work. I have a domain that I registered with 1&1.com, I have made my website and I am selling stuff as an affiliate. I have been advertising and so on, but alot of the applications ask for my company name. I know nothing of internet business laws, etc. When they ask for my company name and it is required am I suppose to put the name of my website? Please let me know!

I was looking at 1800flowers.com, I don't know what to get. I need a plant that does not need a lot of sunlight and grows well indoors. Her office is next to a window however it's on 5th avenue in manhattan and a lot of buildings block sunlight.
