gain?

Let me add...I am a gay man...

Would a fundamentalist church accept a million dollar check from me?

If they do, are they hypocrites?

If they don't...wouldn't they be turning down money that could be used to "further God's work"?

Good question. I think not, since the 'ill-gotten' money could actually bring a curse down upon the church. I don't gamble since the Lord has dealt with me on that issue, but if a Christian did win a lottery and had thoughts of tithing to his church he really should let the Pastor know and let the Pastor decide. Knowing what I know, I would hope the Pastor would refuse it since God has many ways to prosper his people which are above board and legitimate.
You have to remember that most non-believers are hypocrites and lack understanding that God, the Father, wants his children to prosper; unfortunately few Christians read the bible and study it out to know this and the world has no clue at all.
There are plenty of do-gooder organizations out there that could use the money and they aren't concerned about its origin. The do-gooder organizations will waste more of this money through executive salaries and poor stewardship than the average church, but again, the world doesn't care about this, they being inspired by Satan, believe that Christians should be poor and this is one of Satan's most effective lies that the world believes.
Jews and Christians have been some of the wealthiest people throughout history because we are blessed and, again, the world hates us for this.
I didn't mean to get off of your point but Christians are to be wealthy, this is what God, the Father, being a good Father wants for his children.

There is not a church around that would not accept your donation. Modern church's do not live by the rule that money is the root of all evil.

Even a fundamentalist church would accept it. However, they may want to try and "convert" you.

Hypocritical? Maybe. Good business sense yes. Churches today are run like corporations. Except they do not have to pay any taxes. Wait they are exactly like corporations!

They will not turn down your money.

God is not in a building, and love of God is not shown by the size of your donation.

Past experience - friend played the lottery. Her minister told her she was gambling and it was a sin (not sure of his reasoning). And because she continued even after he spoke against it, she was to be condemned. HOWEVER!!!! - when she won $5000, he was wondering when she was going to give her 10% to the church. Just made me really wonder about her church.....

Me, personally, as long as no one was harmed getting the money, I don't see a problem with it. And coming from a gay man, again, what's the big deal??

(I am a Christian, but not a fundamentalist)

I am also a Gay man, and I am a Christian minister, I would have to say that some fundamentalist churches may turn it down, It actually happened here in WV, a guy won 3 mil in the lottery and his church would not accept any tithe from it. But, I would say that the "big" fundamentalist churches whos pastors shall remain nameless (one in VA, one in Oh, a few in Ok) Would not question where it came from if it was given quietly. Of course, as we know, most of them like to worship the almighty dollar because it helps them fight against the "homosexual agenda".

Money, money, money
Must be funny.
It's a rich man's world.
The Church will see it as a miracle, God melting the heart of this despicable sinner so that his TRUE CHURCH can build a desperately needed baptism font.
Oh, brother, those fundamentalists don't hate YOU
They hate SIN
and to eliminate SIN, they'll even bash your head in
But get this straight, they'll accept your cash
Pray over your money to sanctify it
and use it to pay the goons who'll bash your head in.
A gay man winning a lottery would be really soft in the head donating to fundamentalist churches.

...The Lord owns the cattle on a thousand hills; everything is His, and He gives guidelines for giving in His word. He can get along very well with or without your money, but their is no verse commanding an unbeliever to give Him anything.
...Why do you test the Lord? It is a clear violation of Scripture, which says, "You shall not put the Lord your God to the test."
...What is your purpose in asking - so you can run around and cry "hypocrites", without you yourself getting right with God?
...It sounds like you already know of things you are violating in the Word of God - the most important question for you and everyone else is,
...are you willing to go God's way, to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ?
...Whosoever will, may come.

Most would accept it. I see nothing wrong with it. God can turn something bad into good.
