I'm not looking for over-analytical psychological reasonings here, just in a succinct self-evaluating look: why do you think you ended up with the beliefs you have?

Examples: Parents, Nature, Nurture, Fear of Death, Holy Spirit, Intelligence (feel free to use intelligence as an excuse for either argument)...


Side note: Matt Stone is theist and Trey Parker is atheist. They deal with very controversial topics and still get along, look to their example. (If you did these things wouldn't be as fun to read though) ;)

My friend and I read a discussion online about a famous divorced couple. It is alleged that the female gave the husband a false pregnancy test on the husbands birthday. I stated you cannot beleive everything you read and that this must be untrue as you cannot purposely falsify a pregnancy test. She has now put a bet on it that you can. Can anyone help us as we cannot agree to disagree. If there is anyone that claims it can be done please let us know exactly how as I want to prove it cannot be done. Make my day!!!

my son has been attending daycare for about 3 months. When I first brought him there, I told the director that I had full custody (physical and legal) and my husband had supervised visitation, we have a separation agreement, not a court order because we are not divorced. She said it was fine, that if my husband ever showed up, she would call the police and me, and not hand him over. A few weeks later, she came to me and said she needed a court order otherwise if he showed up she would hand him over to him. I told her is wasn't possible since I am not divorced. She was rude, and told me I was wrong. So I paid a lawyer $200 to tell me I was right and if she turned him over to my husband, she would be aiding in federal parental kidnapping. My lawyer explained this to her and I thought that was the end. I picked up my son up today and the director said she kicked him out. She claims she gave me 30day notice I asked for it in writing and of course she didn't have it. Can she do this?

Ok first off, I am a junior and about to fail out of college. I mean I was put on Academic Probation last semester which means I need a 2.0 this semester to stay in the university I'm in and I'm afraid it's not going to happen. I have been working my butt off and I have not been to any party in all of my 3 years here. I am one of those people who takes me a very long time to understand something and I'm just losing hope. I mean if I do fail out of school, will other colleges accept me? Is there still a chance that I could have a good future? I'm losing all hope and I need some "survival" stories if anyone has any of their own or even a friend or family member that they know of?

ok...summer is just about here and I have gained few pounds over winter. Ok...30 pounds, that puts me a little over wieght and I would like to lose that or more. Does anyone have any tips that work really fast and are cheap. I would like a cheap quick fix for my summer trips. I have a trip May 13, May 30, and June 23. I want to look good for these trips and I would love to look better and put myself at a higher chance of not gaining the wieght back. Any help?

That christianity, seemingly more so than other religions, has a way of convincing its adherents that if they stop believing in God they will become immoral, terrible, horrible people? Why is this, and why does it work so well?

I actually had to wake up and realize that just because I stop believing in God, doesn't mean that I have to become evil.

when i try to view videos on websites my computer like locks down and says not responding to the website so I have to click end task. all we have read in school is the first scene...our teacher was talking to us about it and saying how some parts of it is sexual...like at the beginning when those two men r fighting and saying about taking the heads of girls...my teacher said that those guys wanted to take those girls virginity...also when it says about pulling his knife out and it was naked....our english teacher said that we should know what that meant..and he demonstrated wish his hands as if he was pulling out a sword from a case...........

I just didn't like the concept of Christianity anymore. I didn't like feeling guilty and that I should constantly spread word about the Bible. I didn't feel connected and I felt out of space during church ceremonies. It seemed Church was more about comparing and competing who was better than who rather than sticking to the foundation of the teachings.

I fell in love with Buddhism because it was a way to reach an enlightened point of perspective. I feel more free and open without Christianity. Buddhism just touches my heart in a way Christianity never could. I'm not saying its better, but for me personally, it has made my life so much more fulfilling.

I feel more involved with the world in a logical way and I seem to respect and earn respect because I'm open to listen, rather than preach. People just seem to enjoy my company more and for the first time, I feel they actually want to hear out what I say because it provokes more wisdom in my opinion.

I love it, I'm free
