We can't know. In fact, we can't know if anyone is a Christian. If Judas Iscariot really believed that Jesus was the Son of God who died to save him, then he was a Christian. If his sin was representative of his beliefs, then no, he was not.

The Bible clearly indicates that Judas was not saved. Jesus Himself said of Judas, “The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born” (Matthew 26:24). John 17:12 also says concerning Judas, “While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.” At one time, though, Judas believed that Jesus was a prophet, or possibly even believed He was the Messiah. Jesus sent the disciples out to proclaim the Gospel and perform miracles (Luke 9:1-6). Judas was included in this group. Judas had faith, but it was not a true faith, or at best it was a very shallow faith. Judas was never “saved” but for a time he was a follower of Christ.

Matthew 10:1 and John 13:29. Judas was called by Jesus to be one of his disciples. However, Judas chose the cheaper instead of the deeper. Like many of us today, choose material things above the spiritual. Sad.

Judas Iscariot died before Christ did, so no. He would have needed to have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to be a Christian.
also, the Scripture states that "to enter the strong man's house, you must tie up the strong man". The strong man refers to the Holy Spirit, who makes His dwelling in the lives (even bodies) of believers. God is Almighty, so you can't tie Him up. The Scripture also says "we have not been givena spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind", yet Judas was driven mad by Satan's possession of him.
basically you have to read the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to get the Judas Iscariot story.

There is no description of any of the disciples of Christ being a Christian. The Bible declares that they were first called Christians in Antioch. That came about after Christ ascended
and Judas was already dead from suicide.

Judas was a follower or disciple of Jesus. He was chosen by Jesus. the proof in the Bible; is below:
John Chapter 6
6::71. Jesus answered them: Have not I chosen you twelve? And one of you is a devil.
Respondit eis Iesus nonne ego vos duodecim elegi et ex vobis unus diabolus est
6:72. Now he meant Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon: for this same was about to betray him, whereas he was one of the twelve.
Dicebat autem Iudam Simonis Scariotis hic enim erat traditurus eum *** esset unus ex duodecim
The Holy Bible
Webster’s Dictionary defines a Christian as “a person professing belief in Jesus as the Christ or in the religion based on the teaching of Jesus.” While this is a good starting point in understanding what a Christian is, like many secular definitions, it falls somewhat short of really communicating the biblical truth of what it means to be a Christian.
We find the term, for example, in Acts 17:28 on the lips of King Agrippa, an unbeliever: "Then Agrippa said to Paul, 'Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?'" (NIV). It is also found in 1 Peter 4:16: "However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name" (NIV). This text indicates that early believers in Christ suffered persecution as "Christians." In fact, in 1 Peter being a "Christian" seems almost synonymous with suffering (1:6,7; 2:12,19-23; 3:9-17; 4:1,12-19; 5:9).
This thought leads us directly to the third text that uses the term "Christian." It appears in Acts 11:27, where we read that "The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch" (NIV).
This key text tells us two things about the Christians. First, "Christian" was not so much a name that they chose as a name that was applied to them (they "were called Christians"). This is consistent with our observation that it was a term placed upon them by hostile critics. Second, it was a term that was placed on "the disciples." This helps us to establish the meaning of the term: A Christian is a disciple, a follower of Christ, one who clings to the gospel.
In other words, a Christian is defined, Scripturally, as one who follows Christ. A Christian is a disciple, a follower of Christ, a spiritual brother or sister to others - one who strives to be like Jesus, regardless of denominational background or creedal preference.
So, Judas was a christian as to being a disciple or follower of Christ but he failed in the other context to be Jesus -like. or to BELIEVE in Jesus Christ.
Sorry for the lengthy explanation ; but I wanted it to be very factual and substantiated by the BIble; as you required.

Judas was a Christian, in that he was a follower of the Christ. However, both he and Jesus were Jews.

He was one of Jesus' twelve disciples. I doubt he was a genuine believer though--he was the treasurer for the disciples, and was in the habit of stealing money from them.(see John 12:6).

He was a Disciple--a follower of Christ.
We are all called to be Disciples of Christ--wherever we work or play.
HEY!! That could put an end to all the names of religions.
We could ALL call ourselves a Disciple, or NOT.

No, Judas betrayed Christ and then he commited suicide. People did not become Christian until after Christ's death and resurrection.
