To say that any of it should be kept secret assumes that there is some authority that everyone agrees should be trusted with determining who gets to know what. I think the all knowledge should be made freely available. Every discovery since the rock has had the potential to be used for evil. The best we can do is to thwart or punish those who would do evil.

Relevant facts should be disclosed to relevant persons. Secret is only secret for those who dont know it. If you think the information is likely to be miused, hide it until the likelyhood goes out. Just like we here in eastern countries do not teach sex education to our children as it is more likely to be misused, as it does in west. But when the time comes, it shd must not be undisclosed.
