I remember I was having a conversation with a buddy of mine about a movie and I said "That movie is retarded". A couple of minutes later some lady who overheard me comes over and tells me "That's very disrespectful of you to say Retarded, my son is Retarded", and I told her "Oh, well you just called your son Retarded so what's the problem". She walked away mad, but was I really at the wrong here?

We're looking at beds for our kids and wondering whats better for their back, either a bed with a box spring, or one with just a wood base (finding captains beds, bunk beds, and some low beds, just have a wood platform for under the mattress) and worried if this isnt good for them.

I'm currently training for my instrument rating and would like to have a safety pilot to practice shooting some solo approaches. I'd also like to serve as a safety pilot myself for another pilot.

But, I read an article about safety pilots on Wikipedia, which says the safety pilot cannot log PIC time, only SIC time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safety_pilot (see the last paragraph under "Basic Principles")

...is this true? I've learned to take everything on Wikipedia with a grain of salt and this particular article may have been written by some commercial pilot who didn't know what the heck he was talking about.

I also was told by a CFI that airlines deduct SIC time during the pilot hiring process, which (if true) makes it a waste of time to serve as anybody's safety pilot, doesn't it?

A word is just that - a word. It has no power on its own, and certainly no power when spoken aloud to an empty room. It is when someone hears the word, interprets it and reacts to it that offense is taken.

So isn't the liability for offense really on the person who chose to take offense? Don't we just empower words when we react in outrage to something that really wasn't intended to be quite so important?

when a man wants to have sex with a woman really bad, does the desire some from her not putting out so easily and you being extrmemely attartced to her, or could you have feelings for her and that causes you to want her physically? I'm 23 and I graduated from college a year ago, but never tried to apply for any grants or scholarships while I was in school. I know that there are huge amounts of money left over every year in unpaid money, that could help lots of students to pay off their loans. Did try filing separately and since he (retired) does not have much tax taken out - i let him have all the deduction on his return and none for me. The amount is much lower(733)it that possible? I'm 21 weeks pregnant with my second child. My first is a boy, and this one is also going to be a boy. {yay} I was wondering how everyone felt about having a shower for this baby.
