Because David Beckham is considered more of a hero than a British Soldier who sacrifices his life to save those of he's comrades. These are the TRUE heroes!
Every time I read of the passing of a serviceman or woman I shed a tear.
I watched the ceremony on TV and I cried.I cried for the lost souls, for their families. For our Country,Thanks to the maker of this sad film

I am glad your son came home alive, I only wish more soldiers could have. What is a shame more than anything is that our brave armchair leader didnt have the mettle to attend any of the funerals of our brave soldiers that he sent to die. Its is now nearly 10 years since I last served and I am saddened by what this country has become

The Bush administration likes it that way. Keep 'em distracted is their strategy. As long as we don't see the human cost of war, they think we'll keep supporting it. It's the administration that keeps us from seeing the coffins coming home. McCain does photo ops in Baghdad, surrounded by hundreds of troops to keep his butt safe. Then he comes home and spouts this nonsense about how the Baghdad market is just like the open air markets here at home. Only difference is, you don't have to wear a flak jacket here!
Our soldiers and their families deserve every ounce of respect we can give. It's the policy of the Iraq war that's faulty, not the brave men and women who are trying to do the job.

It sucks but stuff about the war and everything gets VERY old if you have to read it every day, hell dude they had the world trade center "bombing" on the news for like what 6 months straight after it happened? Most people care more about money than they do soldiers on the other side of the world. That's not gunna change.

Thank you. We live in an era where the same crowd who spat on our Viet Nam Vets now welcome home our troops for a 15 minute ceremony to simply pander for a photo op. When it comes to really appealing to the citizens of the United States the media in turn panders to those Americans who forget just as quickly. Sensationalism sells and while there is never a lack for sorrow when our Troops come off of the plane from their last ride home, we (as a society) really don't care unless we intimately know that Soldier. At least enough for it to impact us.
Indeed, shame on us all.

I couldn't agree more. The tabloids are filled with utter sh*t that doesn't have an effect on the real world, and when it does it only shows the negative side because it sells.
When they talk about the brave servicemen and women who gave up their lives, they devote a paragraph to them and then move onto negative things about our military dishonouring their memory and the jobs of those who are alive.
But the people who should be ashamed are those who produce the tabloids, and those who don't care about remembering these courageous people who give their lives for them. I can say that hey are on my mind everyday, those who have died and those who are still doing the brave work.

Actually no shame on me. Shame on the tabloids!!!! I can assure you that these 4 brave souls are dominating the news along with the Iraqi parliament blast and are at the forefront of my mind.
If you buy shite papers, then expect to read about shite. May I be as bold to suggest to change your daily rag.

WHY DO YOU WASTE YOUR MONEY BUYING NEWSPAPERS THEN?
WHY DO YOU READ NEWSPAPERS THEN?
The answer is simple - DO NOT BUY NEWSPAPERS !!
Simple as.
Do not pamper to these media moguls who run our Countries.
WHY do you NEED to read a newspaper in today's technological world?
Beyond me !!
Hit these media moguls where it hurts - in thier pockets !!
SIMPLE AS !!!!!
YOU CAN RANT AND RAVE ABOUT THE MEDIA ALL YOU WANT.. YET YOU CONTINUE TO BUY A NEWSPAPER !!
WHY?
You do NOT NEED a newspaper to sustain or even enhance your life or lifestyle.... DUH !!
TRY GOING WITH A NEWSPAPER FOR 7 DAYS... IT'S EASY... they would soon get the message !!!.. it will become second nature to go 8 days... 9 10 14, 30, 60 etc etc etc
YOU are exactly what these people rely and prey on !!
IF YOU ARE SO "ashamed" of the media - YOU CAN do something about it - DO NOT BUY THIER RUBBISH !!
SIMPLE AS !!!
