cubes of marinated chicken, beef, bell peppers, onions, etc.

you can even put chunks of fruit and throw it on the grill and serve it that way.

try this recipe for chicken:
Cooking spray
2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced crosswise into 1/2-inch thick slices
8 to 12 scallions
Wooden picks
1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
2 teaspoons dark sesame oil
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger or ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoons sesame seeds, to garnish

Coat an outdoor grill or stove-top grill pan with cooking spray and preheat to medium- high.
Lay out 3 chicken strips, about 1/2-inch apart. Place a scallion crosswise over the center of the chicken pieces. Then wrap chicken over scallion 1 by 1, securing with a toothpick. Repeat process until you have used 1 pound of chicken.

Season and grill the remaining 1 pound chicken breasts for another meal later in the week.

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic powder. Reserve half a cup of the marinade to use as a dipping sauce. Brush the remaining marinade all over the chicken-scallion skewers.

Grill kebabs 5 to 7 minutes turning occasionally until the chicken is cooked through.

Garnish the reserved dipping sauce with sesame seeds and serve alongside skewers.

I love veggies like bell pepper, onion, zucchinni, and small mushrooms on skewers. You can stick some pineapple on there too...personally I don't grill meat like chicken on the same skewers as veggies because they need different cooking time. Meat needs longer so if you put them together you might overdo the veggies. At least that's what happens to me...you could do the meat first til almost done and then thread them on skewers with veggies I suppose...or just go check out allrecipes.com

Meat, veggies, fruit. Either cut steak or buy it pre-cut in chunks, cut peppers and onions into large chunks and alternate them on a skewer, (three or four pieces of meat per skewer) then marinate them in italian dressing for 20 minutes or more in the fridge, then grill them on super low heat for awhile. They should be pretty tender. Or do chunks of ham with cherry tomatoes, green peppers, and pineapple.

You can put lots of things on skewers...beef tips, chicken tips, onions, peppers...that sort of stuff. My favorite thing to put on skewers is pineapple slices. I cut up a fresh pineapple (the long way) and cook them on the grill, only for a couple minutes each side. I serve them with melted semi-sweet chocolate. Delicious!
