I have seen several question on here about Imus statements and how he should not be condemned due to freedom of speech. My point is this: Freedom of speech does not protect you from being accountable for what you say. I think Imus, Biden, Coulter, Hannity, or whoever else should be villified for some of the things they say. Just because you have the freedom to say something does not mean you are not going to be held accountable. I could wear a sign that says " I hate Jews" in Israel, but I'm damn sure gonna get my azz kicked. Do other people agree that many people use freedom of speech as a way to avoid accountability for their actions?
