They can say all they want, the bottom line is that it would never be funny in any context
This is hubris, when you think you are better than the Gods.

If Imus joked he had a bomb at the airport it would have nothing to do with the stuff he said last week. That is an irrelevant situation. So what about you talking about Imus in a demeaning manner? isn't that the same thing? It doesn't say anywhere in the constitution that you have the right not to be offended. Don't listen if you don't want to hear it.

Frankly, I think they are wasting too much time on this. The same honkers who would take sh*t from some of the real hate-driving. bizarre and violently racist rap music, suffenly want to look so sensitive over Imus' few lines. Imus is no more worse than so many od those stinging rappers.
Suspend Imus for 3 months. And let this same ruling be pressured on any future rappers accused of racial remarks, too. That should serve well for America. one can't pick at Imus without rapping at the violently rapist rap music that's being played by so many stations. It's too warp to see those who enjoy or support listening to violently rapist rap music slamming at Imus.
The longer the Imus case stalls, the wiser people get to relize that what Imus had said is no worse from those violently rapist rap music And what people wishes for to punish Imus should also apply to those violently racist rappers.

It is also interesting to see all of the right-wingers rallying, in effect, to support Imus's "right" to be racist and spew that racism over a major media outlet.

People play pranks and claim to have bombs in airports and federal buildings everyday. This sort of thing is nothing even remotely close to making a racist slur!

Give it a rest! The only people upset are Jackson and Sharpton - and they'll get over it when the check gets cut.
