This is a serious bummer! I work hard, I try my best, and all colleges I apply to, I fail! I mean the only consolation is that a lot of people with a higher GPA then me have fallen well. Sad but true. I got rejected from all the UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, even UC Davis which was a sho in. What the hec am I going to do? I had been thinking of community college before, but now I can't believe I actually have to consider it now. If I go to community college, can I still become a doctor? I am really honestly freaking out rite now. My dreams just seem to get shattered, and then when I think it's done, another guy comes and steps on it even more. What can I do? HELP I NEED SOMEBODY, HELP NOT JUST ANYBODY, HELP, I NEED SOMEONE HELP!!!! please:(

House #1: A 20 room mansion + 8 bathrooms, pool, pool house and guest house heated by natural gas. Monthly utilities on this house run approx $2400, more energy than most homeowners use in a year. In natural gas alone, it uses 20 times what the average American home uses.
House #2: Is a 4 bedroom house of approx 4,000 sf, nestled in the high prairie. A central closet holds geothermal heat pumps drawing water through pipes sunk 300 ft into the ground. The water (@67 degrees f) heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels and consumes 25% of the electricity required for conventional heating/cooling. Rainwater from the roof is funnelled into a 25,000 gal cistern. Water from the sinks, baths, etc goes into underground purifying tanks and also into the cistern and is used to irrigate the land surrounding the house.
House #1 owned by Al Gore.
House #2 owned by George Bush.
Astounding.

All of these questions and answers I have been reading it seems as though if one is an Athiest, they are an assumed Satanist. I had a friend who was an Athiest, but did not worship Satan either. I am a Christian but I can see that one does not automatically = the other. Why do people assume that if you choose not to believe in MY God, that you believe in Satan?

I would like to visit Canada but am worried about the low standard of living there, as I hear it is not as good as the United States.

Is running water and electricity always on, or are there constant blackouts? And also, since liberalism is much more rampant in this, what are the chances of me being accosted?

Also, what if I get sick? Canada has socialized medicine and I have heard of people waiting for weeks in hospital emergency rooms just to get seen by a doctor.

My life sucks compared to my others i think. I just transferred to a new school 2 months ago. I haven't found any friends that i can really confide in. My only firnd from my old school now has the perfect life and cares little about my problems. i never get to go out since my mom is so strict. My grades are dropping but im raising them. I always have alot of homework. And i like this girl at my school, and somebodies going around telling people that i like her. It seems like everything is sucking. And the time goes by so fast when im at home, then im back in school again. Im a nice guy too, my friend on the other hand is kind of the opposite. He gets it all, Clothes, girls, his parents gives him alot of freedom. He has a new best friend. He has alot of family which i dont. And every day our friendship seems to die more and more. im only 16, plus i got rejected for getting a job. I dont know what to do. It seems it gets worse and worse everyday.

Pro's and Con's for a bad team to trade their high pick. I think teams like Raiders or Detriot have no talent, should trade their pick. Both teams are more than one player away. Trade down and try build a core of players. Your thoughts?

I recently had sex with my boyfriend for the first time. & I was really worried it would hurt but when we did it, i didnt feel anything. I didnt bleed or anything. But then when we tried a new possition of me lifting up my legs, it hurt loads. A friend said it happened to her and she had to keep letting it hurt a few times and the pain went and then it felt good. Thing is i dont feel anything when we have sex, we have had it four times not and it dont feel good. And then when we do a possition where he is going straight deep into me it hurts. so do you think i need to get past this pain? and has this happened to any of you? and why do i not feel anything when we do it normally in normal possitions. Is he just not going in at the right angle? Im sorry if this is an akward question lol =] but i really need to know the answer.

why do I, a fairly well educated person (BS), living a comfortable middle class life, in a safe environment, with no real threats to my person or property, choose my religion? Is it an opiate?

Marx makes an observation that is sensible. Where there is need for an illusion, people choose religion as a kind of pain killer, like opium.

What other reasons? Don't give me the 'brainwashing' or 'raised by your parents' argument, unless you have limited abilities to reason.
