To clear your mind before you go to bed, you can focus on a few things that well help you fall asleep faster. Firstly, stop all movement of your tongue. Your tongue, believe it or not, acts as the "light switch" of the nervous system. Allow it to rest as it normally would in your mouth.
The second thing you can do is focus on your breathing. Allow your mind to follow the steady inward and outward breaths, until eventually you fall into a steady, deep rhythm. These two things will help your mind stop wandering, and allow you to fall asleep faster.

I hate it when this happens to me! I learned a long time ago that I get the best results when I just work as hard as I can at something that needs to be done, sweep the floor, vacumn, mop, cook, laundry or to write in my journal. Usually in a couple of hours I fall into bed and sleep soundly. If your thoughts are about a decision that needs to be made, then actually make the decision and be done with it!

A good way to take care of that trouble is to keep a pen and paper at your bedside. Before you try to sleep, write down what you need to do the next day. Also, if you have a worry. Make a worry list and tell yourself that you can forget about it all for now because you will do your worrying tomorrow.

Then learn to relax yourself. Take some slow deep long breaths. And teach your brain to relatx

I do the same thing! Especially if I'm worried, or upset about something. What helps me the most is to make sure I'm already tired before I get into bed, then I turn on my TV, it has to be on something I like & that I've seen before, then I turn it down real low. It holds my interest, but I already know what happens, so I don't have to stay awake to see how it ends. It keeps my mind busy, but is just boring enough to help me drift off to sleep. I usually watch Nick At Nite or TV Land, they always have something that works for me. I hope this helps! Good Luck!!!

I hear ya on that. Try melatonin. You can get this at any vitamin shop, but it does have different effects on different people. As for me it does help me sleep but I wake up at 4 or 5 am. It's safe and effective. A glass of red wine or warm milk might help. Also try watching something boring on t.v. with the volume very low or read if your not a reader. It sounds like stress that has you thinking all night. google this info and see what sounds good for you

I take a supplement called Melatonin. 3 mg keeps you for the night. Takes about 15-20 minutes to take effect. It stopped my thinking so I could sleep. I had tried everything.

You should write in a journal about the days events, and you should spend some time planning tomorrow on paper. Writing helps calm you down, and writing about these specific things will release your mind from feeling the need to obsess about it.

If ur thinking sleeping pills.....Melatonin is a vitamin that is not addicting, and it helps.
If ur thinkink about something w/o pills, try listening to music. Listen to the same song tho...that way ur mind wont end up just thinking about what song will play next.

write a list before you go to bed to organise your thoughts. Don't eat or drink coffee or tea late.
drink a milky drink with cinnimon and nutmeg. Or get some of the nighttime milk that has meletonin in..or try melatonin!

when that happens to me i just try to think of one very happy memory or something and just focus on it and not think about anything else. if the thoughts still keep coming i will write a list or make a note of what to do the next day.
