Speaking as a Pagan married to an atheist, I find my atheist very cute, cuddly, and huggable. But Frank Zaccaro, a Christian preaching the Gospel on the University of Florida campus, screamed when a student atheist group offering free hugs approached him.

By the way, I know one of the huggers, and he's really huggable, too. Zaccaro missed out.

If you wouldn't let an atheist hug you, why not?

Why are religious people against stem cell research? Stem cell research could save lives of their loved ones.

I was speaking, or debating one of my wife’s friends who is very religious. She stated that science has no place with gods will.

So I asked her…. If one of your kids was in a car accident, would you allow surgeons to save her kids life? She said yes. I asked how could she let science, a surgeon and scientific equipment defy the hand of god, if it is gods will that the child die?

Next I asked her what method she used at her child’s birth? She replied that she used natural childbirth. I said, so you were in a meadow under the sun? Nope, she used a hospital attached to scientific monitors, used scientific drugs to diminish the pains.

So, once again, why are people opposed to stem cell research? If they themselves use science against gods will?

we know our babys sex next month, and from day 1 my husband and i have been hoping its a girl. i have nothing wrong with boys, but my heart has always been set on having a girl.

because its a 50/50 chance we're having a boy, id like to know any reasons i could be excited for having a boy?

example: boys are usually mommas boys :)

Hi--I'm a senior in high school getting ready for college. I've been rejected by the Ivies I've applied to so far (Cornell, Yale, Harvard). It's just that for my dream--which is to become a dermatologist, these schools have top notch medical schools. It's just a dream, but I really want to get into one of these schools. I don't know what I don't have that my friends do. I'm half Japanese and half white, and I speak Japanese fluently. I got a solid 1800 on the new SAT and okay scores on the SAT II's (600's and a 750 on the Japanese) and a 27 Composite on the ACT. I've taken 5 AP's and gotten 4's on two of them (3 I have to take in May this year) and my GPA is a 3.8. Extracirriculars: Literary Magazine, Newspaper articles, Japanese tutoring, volunteering at a hospital, and a job in sophomore year. Do you think there is something I should work on so that I can successfully transfer into these schools later on in college? Thank

I realize not everyone is an accurate typist and may type slowly, but some of the abbreviated words that are used online is just ridiculous. I have seen the younger people use them in everyday communications outside of the Internet, and even in essays and term papers they write for school.
Some of it is ok, but come on ....you have to type "hu" instead of "who" or "wud" instead of "would", and so on?
My son's 6th grade teacher gives out spelling words that my 2nd grader can spell, yet a lot of 6th graders can't. Probably because they have forgotten how since they do not use proper spelling when communicating.
I think it is slaughtering the English language. What do you think?

I have a snipit of javaScript running right under the tag. The script works great... but in IE the script shows up as a blank line at the top of my document and is pushing my page down about 20 pixels... I tried a few CSS tricks but its not fixing the problem... Anyone know how to fix this.

i'm just wondering in 10 years from now when we look back on this debacale and i'm sorry if you try to aruge that it's not but it is..plain and simple..i cant recall this much crap from this many angles all under one idiot hence debacale, will they say yes we messed up?

I'm doing a project at school and I need to know some theories and answers to what people think about life after death. I don't mind what religion you follow but I need to know the strengths and weaknesses of the belief and what atheists think will happen after death.

I am an atheist and I think that after you die you become reincarnated but recently I found a theory which is quite interesting: whatever you believe will happen will happen and it will be like a dream or an existance. I would like to know if anyone agrees with this and if not why?

Okay, last night my boyfriend and I were in a local park and when we got to my car things got a little out of hand and it wasn't planned. (We didn't have sex but some items of clothing were missing). Well an officer just happened to drive by and he questioned us, wrote down my boyfriends name and ran my ID. They did not write us any tickets and did not arrest us. They asked me why we were there and said that we could not be there and they asked where we worked. They said it was fine but not to do it again.

The only problem is my boyfriend is illegal. We are both Mexican but he is illegal. I am really worried now that they will try to find him and deport him. Do y'all think this is possible and are they allowed to show up to our jobs and tell our employers about this event? Can you be deported for this action, besides the fact that he is illegal. Please no rude comments, I love him with all of my heart and this really worries me. Thank you.

They did not arrest him.
