Why are religious people against stem cell research? Stem cell research could save lives of their loved ones.
I was speaking, or debating one of my wife’s friends who is very religious. She stated that science has no place with gods will.
So I asked her…. If one of your kids was in a car accident, would you allow surgeons to save her kids life? She said yes. I asked how could she let science, a surgeon and scientific equipment defy the hand of god, if it is gods will that the child die?
Next I asked her what method she used at her child’s birth? She replied that she used natural childbirth. I said, so you were in a meadow under the sun? Nope, she used a hospital attached to scientific monitors, used scientific drugs to diminish the pains.
So, once again, why are people opposed to stem cell research? If they themselves use science against gods will?

It's the whole fetus thing, they've got it all tied in with their views on abortion.

I am not against stem cell research. I've read instances where stem cell implants have saved lives and I'm sure that there are many more ways they could work. I do believe that to create embryos to use in research is wrong. I think that that is the reason most people are morally against what has been proposed. Did you know (I read this in an article and assume it is true) that if everyone would donate the placenta, when giving birth, there would be enough stem cell to fill the need for research, without having to create new lives that would ultimately be distroyed. Which do you think is more moral. If it is your time to die, you're gonna go. So the will of God does have some bearing in the matterm, even if you get a stem cell implant. There fanatics on both sides of the issue and it's so simple to meet in the middle. I wish it could happen.

Catholics are taught Pro-Life, which means searching for the best quality of life for all.
1) Adult Stem Cell & Umbilica Stem Cell research is good. This type of research does not take life but rather provides life. Catholic Churches also "tithe" to such programs. The research results are very successful.
2) Fetus Stem Cell research is bad because life is the cost and the existing results have less quality results than those of Adult & Umbilical cord studies.
Did you know that John Paul II suffered from Parkinsens (a disease stem cell research is studied for)???

Once again you can see the ignorance of people.God created good and evil, life and death etc. That includes all things hopefully for the good of all people. He didn't say;in certain circumstances. All circumstances! He also created Men and Women,Male and Female and gave us the brain that allows us the freewill that allows ignorance to flourish. No where in the Bible will you find the words Science is wrong! Also life is precious to God so don't you think Stem cell is what God intended?

Did u ever stop and think that maybe the baby that you killed could come up for a cure a safe way? U have no idea what that person will turn out to be, science is not against the will of God but the misuse of science is.
And to correct your false statement, if it was truly God's will for that child to die, then nothing and I mean nothing could save that child. Once again you have demonstrated the lack of understanding. Man does not pick and choose what God does. If you save someone then you did it by God's will.
One cannot kill the life of another to save one or many. It is immoral, and therefore wrong. Your points were weak and I am surprised that this person you debated (if that happened) did not reconize this.

Using science is not against God's will. Using technology is not against God's will. Who said it was? Using science and/or technology, or anything else for that matter, to try to disprove God's existance is wrong, but more to the point a waste of time. I'm a Christian and I'm all for stem cell research.

Stem cellular examine is an extension of what God enables guy to comprehend. to assert that a genetic illness is a mistake seems exceptionally insulting to a individual residing with those adjustments.

In speaking with other Christian friends, they are not against Adult Stem Cell Research. That has shown much more promise than embryonic stem cell research.
You need to specify which research you are asking about.

You are asking people who will be typing the answer on computers that science gave them. Your answers will be that it isn't against God's will or they will be the hypocrites who have no trouble using science for their own benefit.
