I ask the same question for some drivers who can't remember to turn them on at night!
I think one of the coolest safety options I have seen cars have is automatic headlights. My last two cars have had this option. They have daytime running lights and automatically switch to night mode when it gets dark out/rains/enter a tunnel/etc. You still have the ability to override and turn them on yourself, but I have found the systems works really well and if you rely on it, you never have to worry about forgetting to turn your lights off!

I think that the majority of drivers do,one thing that really gets me going are the morons who have their fog lights on in the rain, they either don't realise or don't care that the reflection off the wet roads can dazzle the driver behind!!!!!

I think a lot of people are used to their lights turning on automatically at night - so they don't even think to manually turn their lights on in rainy situations.
Now that have a car that has lights that automatically turn on, I sometimes forget to turn them on when it is raining.

Humans are creatures of habit. If you're not used to turning on your lights until it gets dark, then you don't think about it.
My truck has the auto headlamps and will turn their selves on when it gets dark and they will turn off in the daylight at dawn.
I am surprised at just how well the system works, rarely do I get the lights turning on and off in a short period of time, only if I go through a dark tree lined street for a good length of time at dusk.

because the average driver is stupid lorry drivers can not see them in the rain as the spray from there wheels hides them so for your own safety make sure you are the first to turn your lights on

It is terrible!!
I cant see them half the time!
I know most states require that if your windshield wipers are on , due to weather, then you need to have your lights on as well.
Most new cars now come with automatic lights, meaning once the car is on , so are the lights!!
My car is not automatic but I always turn on my lights, regardless of the weather......its safe driving and common sense!!

This type of person thinks of no-one else but themselves and probably thinks that when lights are on it is draining the battery.Other adjectives that come to mind are thoughtless,careless,dangerous,selfish-and someone who lacks driving skills/knowledge.
