Last year we had a woodpecker who poked holes in our siding in a couple of places around the house. We kept chasing him off, but he'd come back. We had peace over the winter, but he returned this spring with company...presumably grown babies from last summer. Help! How do we get them to stop? They're digging some nasty holes in the siding in several places.

Every day is the same, I'm fast approaching 40 and feel that I have done nothing with my life. I am a single parent of 7, oldest is 24 and youngest is 4months. I have written previously about my ex who ended things 6 wks ago when "her feelings changed". Just before things ended I thought she was depressed (she has a history). She went to the Dr who prescribed prozac & counselling. 1 Wk later she said she wasn't depressed, didn't need counselling & said our relationship was the cause of her unhapiness. She ended things.

She got back into contact with me but has been hot and cold. We met up and everything was good, I rang her a few days later and suggested another meet up & she made excuses. She seems to want to speak on the phone & chat to me but wants to keep me at a distance.

I have decided there is no point carrying on with things in limbo. I wrote to her & suggested to her we go out and do stuff together for a few weeks and see where things go. It may be we do have a future, it may be we don't after that & can be friends. I told her it was pointless being somewhere in between.

How long should I wait before saying I need to know?

My employer has just asked me to basically use the work of someone else as if it were ours. I'm really uncomfortable doing this but have a family to support. I've voiced my concerns to my employer - he doesn't really care what I think about it (just do it). Advice?

Someone once said "I hate being alone, but I love to be myself" I dont really remember where i got that quote from anymore..it was a while ago..but i do remember thinking that it described someone that I know.. perfectly.

Say that a girl somehow feels.. and has always felt more comfortable when she’s on her on. Even though she believes in love, and think its one of the most beautiful things that there are in life, even though she’s always felt like that kind of love is really just not for her. And she knows from experience that being in love can make a person feel so happy in the most extraordinary way...however, even though she feels happy, she at the same time has always got this feeling like..it cant last and that its just a matter of time till everything comes crashing down...and sometimes she just doesn’t feel like she deserves to be this happy.

Could those just be signs to her from her own mind reminding her that she’s just not made for being in love?
