They let their pets get pregnant for many reasons, they feel that their dog is the best and so the puppies they have would be great as well, they think they can make money, it would be cute to have their dog give birth, etc. The list goes on and on. While yes, some vets charge a good amount to alter, there are many shelters and rescues that will offer a discount spay/neuter and there are more and more counties that have a spay/neuter mobile that will alter your dogs for free if you can not afford to do so. They either don't know or don't care about the potential health risks to mom and babies or the future health risks to their pets should they not alter them such as cancer.

im sry but i totally disagree with ur point of view here. i help my parents breed an raise pupies. we breed bird dogs. their very expensive yes but its totally worth it. bonding with the puppies an teachin them manners b4 their bougth so they'll b a great dog. i love raising dogs. i dont see a problem with it. i wil nvr spay/ nueter my dogs. just bcz u dont like breeding doesnt mean other people dont. the only thing that i hate about breeding is watching the puppies go. ive taught puppies of litters in the past all kinds of cool tricks by the time they were 2 months old they were sitting laying down an begin very patient when it came 2 eating. an the only thting expensive bout puppies is the price the people pay 2 buy them an having 2 pay 2 get their shots, food, and mayb have their tails docked an ears trimmed. but raising puppies is totally worth it. an now me an my mom are currently gona start raising an breeding miniature shcnauzer puppies. an might i say there's nothing wrong with not wanting 2 spay/ neuter a dog. we understand that there are some risks with breeding but we take extra care 2 make sure everything goes smoothly. an no im Definitely NOT a bad/irrepsonsible pet owner bcz i wont spay/ neuter my dogs and DONT any1 DARE tell me i am! an excuse me renodogm i totally an completely disagree with u.

I think they figure that they'll have a litter, have a few puppies, sell them and make some quick bucks. Don't realize tho how much a litter costs to produce if you do it properly. Food, shots, worming, at very least adds up very quickly and next thing you know that profit is gone and they have to start digging into their pockets... Seems lots of them won't tho, then the puppies end up at the shelter, dumped on the street, or given away to someone who shouldn't even have a dog... It's a vicious circle, that's why breeders should be Spaying and neutering puppies before they leave their homes!

some people believe that spaying before the first litter is like taking away a womans chance to have a child. it's not fair to take away anyones choice so they let the dog have puppies. same with cats.

for one some people are too lazy, second others cannot afford having their animal spayed or neutered, and three they think they can afford the puppy/cat but when the time comes they find out they can't and so they have drop them off or give them away.

They just don't care about the millions of lovely, sweet dogs that are killed in shelters only because homes for them don't exist.
That's why anyone who let's their dog or cat get pregnant should have to do community service in the animal shelter and hold the animals while the vet injects the kill juice. Over and over and over and over....
