Yeah, I understand; almost all guys in Europe (and Asia and Latin America, for that matter) are uncircumcised.

You should print out this web page (or the name of the cream at least) and go to another doctor. Being in Europe, you're bound to find a doctor who knows about it or that will prescribe it. Perhaps that specialist is a urologist and will know about it. Nobody can force you into that surgery, though. Just visit another doctor. This cream works in 95% of cases.

The name of the cream is 0.05% betamethasone. =)

BTW, as far as cleaning goes, you only slide it back and rub the head (which feels great) for like five seconds when you shower. People always assume it's dirty when they don't know something they don't have...

See another doctor immediately! Circumcision is a last resort. When they remove that little piece of skin a lot of nerve endings go with it. Those nerves are there for a more pleasureable sex experience.

You were born with a foreskin for a reason. It protects the glans of your penis, keeping it nice and moist. Doctors love to prescribe and operation because they can charge more for cutting than advice.

All you need to do is stretching exercises. Stretch the opening of your foreskin at least 3 times a day up to the point of pain. If it hurts, ease off on the stretch. It helps to do this in the shower when your skin is nice and warm. Try to retract, but stop if it hurts. Do this for 2-3 weeks and I bet you will be able to retract with no problem. Then, always retract when you urinate. It keeps the foreskin flexible and also helps keep you cleaner.

Mainly, you have to handle your partner a little more. He will like you for it!

I was circ'ed fairly recently and I didn't have any pain or discomfort whatsoever. It looks great and there's no longer any smell, especially in summer because there's no smegma or stale urine buildup problem.

I haven't lost sensitivity in the glans (the size of which increases after the op by the way) and the feeling around the cut line during erections is nothing short of electrifying! I kept the frenulum intact because of personal preference.

I didn't lose any nerve endings in the inner foreskin. But I don't think it's possible anyway because a penis is all about deep-pressure sensors and sensations of pleasure have almost nothing to do with the foreskin.

In short, go for it - the anti-circ league have no clue and neither does anyone who hasn't been circumcised as an adult.

Your doctor is out of touch with modern therapy. If you have a tight foreskin, you do NOT need circumcision. Personally, I'd report him to the medical board - that advice today is not acceptable patient care.

Find another doctor. There are two options - a steroidal cream that will help stretch out the foreskin, and a small operation that cuts one side of the foreskin to allow more movement. This is NOT circumcision; do not let them convince you to have that done unless several doctors agree that it is the only solution. The link below gives you all the information you need about the cream, and the exercises.

Please get a second opinion!

I strongly suggest you go to http://www.cirp.org/library/treatment/phimosis/ You'll need to scroll past some stuff about babies to get to the area that's relevant to you.

There are medical reasons for circumcision, but a tight foreskin in itself is NOT a good reason. Ask several doctors about this, as once it's done, it's permanent, and it's not the doctor who's going to get cut, so don't let the doctor force you into it.

It's not so bad - they circumsize two-day old baby boys in the USA every day! You'll be asleep and won't know pain until you wake up and they'll give you pain medicine. You'll be fine! It'll be easier to keep clean after you heal!
