I don't. It's a spiritual resurrection, not physical. Jesus didn't rise physically, and neither will we be raptured physically. Yes, I'm a Christian. :)

Gnostic. I also know death is nothing to be afraid of, and I have no anxiety over it at all. I want to live as long as possible, but I don't fear physical death.

A lot I have met claim that they don't fear death. That they would welcome it. In fact, there are some who so hate this world and want to be with God that they actually hope God takes them soon!

When Christianity first started and was persecuted by the Romans, people where lied up to die. In fact some turned themselves in. The Roman government begged these people - and eventually grew tired of their lust to die. In fact in later years they turned many of them away who came before the government looking to be martyrs for the faith. (It is a misnomer that the Romans picked on Christians. There were only a couple of years that Christians were actively hunted. The rest of the time - if they kept a low profile they weren't bothered.)

A lot of Christians seem to welcome the idea of being able to go to heaven.

Personally, I think that such a desire to escape this world - created as a gift from God - isn't a good thing. And those that I met who claim to have no fear of death seem to have second thoughts when it comes to visit them.

Jesus said That HE is the Resurrection, yet he feared death, But yet he knew within 3 days he will rise again. That is the Human part of everyone. But when we do face death, we have that same promise Jesus had. To be raised again. The bible says if we only have hope of this life only, we are most misable. But we have a hope after this life.

Because for some people, the unknown is a fearful and mysterious thing. Christians are just as human, and sensitive to their mortality, as anybody else. Christians believe that heaven is ultimately union with God; however, anyone who's lost a loved one will know how difficult it can be to remember this, when faced with mouring. The strength Christ offers us in his Ressurection is a message of hope for those darkest times in our lives.

We dont fear death, it is the fear of ceasing to live in this life. It is the only one we know and it is always fearful to leave familiar surroundings. We grieve not because of death but we will miss these love one here. change isnt easy even to us Christians.

Christians don't fear death. To the contrary, a friend of mine who is a pastor (not my pastor) has told me that of the many, many deathbeds he has attended (he is 76), the believers were always peaceful, the non-believers in varying degrees of fear or seeking at the end.

I don't fear death, but I don't go looking for it either. I think most people are afraid of the physical part of dying. Not everyone passes peacefully in their sleep.

May God Bless you.

Most Christians know, on some level, that they're not living as God wants them to. They value the things in this life too much. Too much focus on the present. It has to do with maturity.

Fear of the unknown. This life is all we know.
