We live, and some point our brain ceases to get blood and oxygen, we die, we cease to exist.

Two questions, why is it so hard for religious people to see that this process does not involve a magical all seeing omnipotent being, regardless of what you call him?

I live a good legal clean life with a young family that I love, why do religious people think i am a less moral person than someone similar who lives their lives by a set of ancient parables written by who knows who, thousands of years ago?

Please do not quote the Bible or Quoran at me. I don't think they are the word of God. He doesn't exist, so I don't think he was writing books thousands of years ago.

I studied as a young man with the catholic priesthood in Aberdeen scotland, for a number of years. I know what I am talking about. Then I grew up and took the blinkers from my eyes.

I have to prove that

cosh^(-1) z = log[z + (z^2-1)^(1/2)]

I just want to know what formula do I start with to get to the above.

I know that cosh(y) = [e^y + e^(-y)]/2

So if that is the equation I should use... how do i inverse it ... I read somewhere that you just switch y's and x's... so it would be y = [e^x + e^(-x)] / 2
2y = e^x + e^(-x)

I'm not good enough working with logs to even continue, i feel like it is probably the wrong start anyway... can anyone please let me know where to start... thanks :)

Can she really dance that good, or she dances good enough but the angles of the camera and the clothes she weras helps her alot, i've notice on the video hips dont lie, that when she's with the white outfit that her skirt is way lower on the back than the dancers on the background, what you guys think?

I just think it's funny everytime I'm on here, that most of what I see is:
Christians are stupid and ignorant. Just look at what they believe in? Are they delusional or something?

So I ask you non-christians:
Does it bother you that you live in a country (USA) that is just not mostly christian, but is primarly dominated by christians? Do you truly believe that more than half the world and almost 86% of America is stupid and delusional? If so, then I think your all the delusional ones.

We are planning a party for our daughter's 1st birthday. We are fortunate to live around a lot of family, so there will be a large group of extended family there. While we want our family to share in this occasion, we would rather people not give gifts or money -- and don't want people to feel obligated to bring one. What is the most polite way to include this with our invitation? We'd like to include an insert that says something to the effect of "please, no gifts" or something similar. If gifts were received, we'd likely donate them to a children's hospital or charity that could truly use them. We really appreciate your help! Thank you.

There is nothing in the drug information sheet about Clindamycin causing heartburn. I know that some other people have reported it though. I've been taking it for almost a week, and the heartburn is unbearable. It is the worst heartburn of my life, and gets so bad it feels like I can't swallow at all. Today is my last day for this medication, but I know the effects can continue even after you've stopped it. Has anyone else experienced this, and what do you suggest? I've tried taking it with and without food and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Drinking clear soda like Sprite only makes it hurt worse, as the bubbles seem to get stuck down in my esophagus and it's hard to burp. I'm seeing my Dr tomorrow, so please don't just say "call your doctor". I would like to know if anybody else actually experienced the same thing, and what happened for you?

I woke up yesterday and it felt fine, but the more I walked on it the worse it got. The pain is centralized on my knee(almost feels like behind the knee now). I originally thought it would get better after I slept, but when I woke up today I can feel pain even when I'm not moving it. It kinda feels like it's sore, but waaay more intense. what can it be?
