Convert PDF files to Word files?

Question

i want to convert an application form in PDF form to Word form, for the sake of writing it out.

Any free program that would let convert a PDF files into Word file?

can openoffice do this? if yes, what is the link?

No. The whole point of PDF files is that the creator decides what the document looks like and readers can't change it.

But there is one trick: Download Foxitreader (for windows), from Foxitsoftware.com.
It is a very small and fast PDF reader (much smaller and faster than Adobe Acrobat Reader.
It has a Typewriter mode that allows you to type text anywhere in the document.
When you print it, you also print the texts you added.
The only thing is that you can not save it to disk with those annotations.
