My daughter's father and I have been seperated for two years, and he has never paid child support. I still allow him to visit his daughter as long as I am present. Now I have hired a lawyer to get things moving, and I am wondering if I should tell him that I got a lawyer or just let him find out for himself?

My friend's boyfriend beats her. I saw him do it before. Plus she admits it when I ask about her bruises. I've given her numbers to battered women shelters. She even stayed w/ me a few days, but went back to him. She claims she has nowhere else. She was abused as a child & now has a fatal illness as well. She says she hopes he ends up killing her. If I call the cops on him, she may deny all of it out of fear. Or he may harm me & my family when he gets out of jail. Have I already done all I could to help?

For my Spring 2006 bill, I paied on 25th December 2005, University report me on 2005 as 1098-T but
I meant to study on Spring 2006 and I did not get any credit or refund for those money in in 2005 tax return. Mater of fact I did not get any education tax refund for 2005. Can I claim that bill in 2006 even though in 2006 1098-T is not showing those part of the bill? its only showing summer 2006 part of the education bill?? Please help me!

Here's what I have now...

Pentium 4 2.5Ghz
512MB ram
Nvidia Geforce Force FX 5200 w/128mb
120gb hard drive
Windows ME (yeah I know it's old)

Should I upgrade to Win XP and in a year or so upgrade my computer (bigger hd, more ram & new video card) or should I just skip XP and go straight to Vista and hope for the best?

I don't have the money to upgrade my hardware just yet but I really don't want to buy XP only to find out it's more outdated than I think.

What is better?

Renting/Buying an existing business and make it into a salon or making your business home-based with a section of your house renovated into a salon setting with all the supplies and equpiment you need?

I feel that being home-based, will be better financially because this way, I won't have to worry about having a seperate or extra mortgage/rent to pay..but at the same time, does working from home make you and immediate target for robbery and unwanted attention, since your home will be open to the public?


What do you think?

We are re-doing our exterior doors and sanded them over the weekend. The problem is that it started pouring down rain in the middle of the night and now they are all wet. Is there any way to save the doors or are we going to have to replace them?

The doors aren't warped but you can tell that they soaked up some rain.

I'm always cleaning up after him and I've asked him numerous times to clean up his messes with no success. But I'm not his mother and shouldn't have to clean up after him. Do I take it to the boss? Because if the boss says something to him he'll know that I said something. It's not only the mess that's bothering me but I don't know if the boss thinks if it's me too that's making the messes. How do I resolve this amicably? I still need to work with him.

Where to begin? I'm 5'2" and weighed 104 lbs before I got pregnant and gained a whopping 58 lbs. The first 40 came off easily but the last 18 have been challenging. I've only got 6 lbs to go but my body is a far cry from bathingsuit ready and I go on vacation in a month. Egads! I don't care if I lose the extra 6 lbs per se, I'd be perfectly happy if I stayed the same weight as long as the fat that's still clinging to my abs, butt and thighs changed to muscle.

I do 30 min on the elliptical, 200-400 crunches, leg lifts and squats every day. I eat decently, consuming only 1200-1500 calories per day, mostly veggies and lean meats. All I drink is water and 1-2 cups of coffee a day but please don't ask me to cut that -- it's a necessity when you have an 8-month-old who still wakes up three times a night. :)

Am I doing something wrong? Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to lose the rest of this flab? Thanks for any input!
