libertarian......My point iiissss that the military is coming up with plans similar to Congress. What does that tell you about their confidence in winning the war?

it sounds to me like they have decided to be prepared for anything.. just in case "anything" happens :P

You always need a backup plan. In case you didn't notice, they are not looking at defeat, they are looking at all options to help win. The only defeat is running away and not giving them a chance to fight for their own survival. Or worse, a taliban forms and we have to go back in a couple of years.

Congress can throw out crap anytime they want and not have to worry about implementing it. The military on the other hand has to be prepared for the crap that congress will throw at them.
