You could try The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen. It has the twists and turns of Catch-22, the emotion of Pi, and the import of Sings.

Life of Pi..fabulous book. Try any books by Sharon McCrumb such as the Rosewood Coffin. I have enjoyed all of her books. One of her most recent books is called St Dale and is about Dale Earnhart and NASCAR stuff. I found it to be a good book but didnt enjoy this book as much as her previous books.

Go with One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
