In my line of work I often talk to travelers that are making plans for the afterlife and occassionally I will talk to one that just refuses to pay the ferryman fee- two standard issue Roman gold coins, c.56BC. Why is it that people think the afterlife is going to be cheap?

I'm a freshman in high school but my reading level was college-level last time I was assessed (8th grade), and I'm looking for book recommendations. Our assignment in English is to chose a book independently and complete a project on it. Since I'm in honors, the book needs to be somewhat advanced (if not college level, college-bound level).

I'm looking for something that not only has a compelling, brilliant plot (with twists, if possible), but deeply crafted characters and beautiful, lyrical prose. I want something that isn't dry and distant, but is still deep.

Genre doesn't matter, so long as the above is present. :)

No chick-lit, though. Please. No crime/action/war novels either. Anything else goes. Thank you. I would prefer YOUR recommendations rather than a link to a website.

My boyfriend is seeing someone else?
I have been in a LDR with a man for three years. I thought we were really serious, I met his children and spent Christmas with him and his family (he is divorced with 4 children). He has been divorced for 4 years and we have been together for 3 years. We live apart and see each other every three weeks for about 5 days. We committed to being exclusive and told each other we love each other but also have decided that neither will relocate. Now I just found out that he is cheating on me. He has been seeing another girl long distance for six months and they get together once a month also. Could he really be committed to me and just be using her. Or was the relationship with me so soon after his divorce (there was no separation period b/f the divorce was final that I was a rebound? I am so confused, I really love him. Doesn't it seem his affair is just for meaningless sex?

I have been a professional model for many years and currently work in Manhattan. Lately my job is not going aswell as it used to because my new agent sucks. My husband finished medical school and was supposed to start his residency this July, but he failed his boards twice and therefore will not be able to practice medicine until next July. He is originally from Ohio, and his parents had the "brilliant" idea for us to move to Cleveland Ohio, so that he could work for his father as an assistant (his dad is a doctor) and for me to work as a model in Cleveland. I have traveled allover the world and worked in pretty much all major cities, and I have to say, I don't like Ohio very much. My husbands parents said that they will not support him as much anymore and we are now forced to move out of Manhattan. They also use the excuse of my job not going so well, to move to Ohio, or New Jersey. I am getting really annoyed at the fact that my husband still depends so much on his parents, and that

Whether turning left or right, my car makes a groaning noise from the front. It also seems rough to turn as well. This started after driving in very horrible snowy conditions about a month ago. I figured there was just snow packed up in there causing friction, but the snow is melted now and I still have the issue. Any ideas?

We need some opinions! Problem: At least 6 of us are wanting to plan a trip to Vegas. 5 live in Columbia, SC 1 lives in Savannah, GA. We want to leave on a Thursday and Return on a Sunday to get back to work on Monday. Where should we leave out of? ATL, Jacksonville, Charleston, Savannah, Columbia, or Charlotte? What factors should we consider? One problem is upon returning who's gonna have to take that long/short drive back home? Where's the cheapest? What's the best airline? Whose the best travel agent? hello, im pretty sure the pimple i had on my forhead was a very light form of cystic acne. i dried it out and tried to bring it to the surface. a very little did and i took the proper steps to get rid of the head of the pimple. now the area is very dry and the skin on the pimple looks rough and almost dead like. any suggestions on how to get rid of this? and the redness?
