Im curious as to what non belivers think about morals and their origin. Im not trying to persuade anyone to my line of thinking, (Christian). I am simply trying to get a better understanding of how a non believer rationalizes a moral standard.
As I understand it, to be moral is to be concerned with the principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong.
Im guessing here and not trying to put words in anyones mouth, but would a non believer say that this standard of conduct has been generated by society as a group to help govern how we should act towards one another?
If my assuption is correct, then the question still remains un-answered...where did society come up with its standard?. Agian, im not trying to be arrogant, or presumptious, but I would like know know better the "other side of the coin". Any and all respectful answers will be appreciated.

I am trying to make paper with a group of elementary students. We have very few recourses, I'm trying to find a way to make paper without screens or anything other than the very basic ingredients (water and paper and something to mix it in). It's not a big deal if it's not great paper.... I just want to get the idea of recycled paper across. Is it possible to do this or should I try to get more supplies from somewhere? Thanks!

My girlfriend and I are going to Toronto tomorrow to see an imax movie at Paramount theatre (Scotia bank theatre) We're also going to Fresh Restaurant (corner of Spadina and Richmond) and finally going to the Silver Snail (Peter & Queen W). Is there a parking lot that's central to all these things? If so, does anyone know how much it is for all day and is there a time we need to leave the lot, say 11 pm or something?

Are the apartment personel alowed to tell you how much the monthly rent is or do you have to visit/etc first? Can you just call and ask, without telling them your name or any information at all?

Everything seems so hopeless. There is no hope for humanity and there probably isn't any loving God up there to set things right someday. I don't even want to learn to love simple pleasures again, they are empty now. Those days of innocence and carefree life are long gone for me. Now I just want answers. Where are they?

How can I prove to myself that there is a moral law above and beyond the few little things we know about and see? If there isn't one, I have no reason to bother living anymore.

I have a 533mhz ram card unused and I wanted to give it to my friend, but he doesn't know whether he has 533 or 667 mhz ram and he asked me how to find out but I realized I don't know how to myself. I tried dxdiag, but it doesn't say, and I couldn't find anything in device manager.

hi there ive bn ttc for awhile hope so not getnn hopes up at all bt ive bn haven hot flashes and breast are a wee bit tender to touch yesterday i had very fait bleeding wot i thought may be may period then nufn when i woke up this morn untill a couple hrs ago i bleed a bit mre which im guessing is my period but im also not due for it for another 2days wot you fink how heavy can implation bleeding be? proply just early period aye but thought i should check :)

i buy meat and have frozen it or use it fresh and when i cook it it tastes odd ,latley i have thrown a lot away due to odd taste.i have tryed baking soda in the freezer etc nothing seems to help is the fridge the problem or is it the meat??? any ideas would be appriciated

I agree with the new law. if your caught using your handset while driving you should be punished.
how ever i dont agree with the fact, that if you pull over to use your phone you can still be penalised for having your engine running.
So if you have the common sense to pull over to use your phone, a police officer can still fine you.
Thats not fair!, especially when you have shown common sense in the first place.
